I have read a lot of comments now and cannot understand how to evaluate this hotel only approachingly with less than 4 stars ! The hotel is great ! Both the individual apartments in the outdoor houses (which we could easily exchange for a room in the house) and the entire facility, the hotel, just everything! Here she has given the owner so great effort and put a really great concept or a great facility on the legs ! The staff in the whole house is incredibly nice and premature ! Breakfast has everything you need and is constantly fresh and varied ! No matter whether wellness area , outdoor facilities or rooms, everything is clean and modern , you feel very well ! We travel a lot across the world and this hotel has a super price-performance ratio! Ps. At the size of the facility, it can once The fact that you have to wait a little while or the breakfast room is a little more full, to assess something like that as “bad” is not understandable for me! Very good location for excursions at Havel, Potsdam and surroundings. Rooms are perfect for excursors. The check-in and check-out is completely uncomplicated. Very friendly staff. Always helpful and has good tips. We're happy to come back.

Der Hotelkomplex des „Vienna House by Wyndham Havelufer Potsdam” liegt nahe am Havelufer und lädt in relative ruhiger Umgebung zum Verweilen ein. Allerdings sind einige der Zimmer eher einfach eingerichtet und verströmen lediglich durch mehrere Holzbalken als Gestaltungselemente in den Zimmern etwas Flair. Als Ausgangspunkt für Unternehmungen in Potsdam ist das Hotel nahe der Straßenbahnlinie S91 und dem Bahnhof Potsdam Charlottenhof gut geeignet, für längere Aufenthalte würde ich es nicht empfehlen. Ich war im September 2023 zu Gast in dem Hotel und hatte Doppelzimmer 215 zugeteilt bekommen. Das Zimmer liegt im ehemals als Korn-Speicher genutzten und jetzt umfunktionierten Hoteltrakt mit Blick auf eine rückwärtige Grünfläche und die Außen-Terrasse eines italienischen Restaurants. Dieses wird offenbar recht gut besucht – entsprechender Unterhaltungslärm war bei gutem Wetter abends in unserem Zimmer bis Restaurantschließung (Mitternacht) bei geöffnetem Fenster zu hören. Das Zimmer hatte eine einfache funktionale Ausstattung mit einem kleinen Doppelbett (gute Matratzen), Wandlehne mit zwei Abstell-Brettern (als Nachttisch-Ersatz), Tisch, ein Stuhl, Telefon, Fernseher, Spiegelgestell mit acht Kleiderhaken und zwei Schubladen (als Schrankersatz…) und der Möglichkeit, einen kleinen Koffer abzustellen. Durch ein Rundbogenfenster hatte man einen Ausblick auf die Grünfläche hinter dem Hotel. Das Badezimmer hatte eher den Charakter eines Jugendherberg-Bades mit einem Waschbecken (wie man sie oft auf Raststätten-Toiletten findet) und einer Duschecke mit Plastikvorhang. Daneben beengt: die Toilette. Seifengel und Shampoo-Fläschchen standen bereit. Recht gut empfand ich das Büfett-Frühstück, dass im Erdgeschoss mit Blick auf den Grünbereich und Zugang zu einer Außenterrasse (mit Tischen und Stühlen) angerichtet war. An beiden Tagen meines Aufenthaltes herrschte gutes Wetter, so dass Frühstück auf der Terrasse im Freien möglich war. Hätte man die nichts nutzen können an den Tagen, wäre es im eigentlichen Restaurantbereich zu Wartezeiten gekommen, wenn das Hotel gut ausgelastet ist. Wartezeiten gab es auch an der nur einen (langsam arbeitenden) Kaffeemaschine. Fertiger Filterkaffee in kleinen Kannen stand bereit, die „langsame“ Kaffeemaschine bot auch Cappu, Latte und Co. Die Frühstückauswahl war gut, alles da: Verschiedene Wurstauflagen, Käse, Marmeladen, Obst, Joghurts, Eier-Variationen, Brot, Brötchen und Croissants, Cerealien, Säfte, Wasser und sogar Sekt. Zwei Fahrstühle bieten im Hotel gute Zugangsmöglichkeiten zu den Zimmern auf den vier Stockwerken. Außen gibt es im Freien eine Raucherecke mit Outdoor-Sofa. Die Straßenbahnhaltestelle S 91 ist nahe dem Einfahrtsbereich des Hotels an der Zeppelinstraße und schnell erreichbar. Bis zum Bahnhof Potsdam-Charlottenhof sind es 6 - 7 Gehminuten. Maxx by Steigenberger Potsdam hat noch zahlreiche Hausaufgaben zu erledigen, ehe der schmückende Beiname „Steigenberger“ tatsächlich verdient ist. Die Gründe sind nachstehend aufgeführt. Für größere Fahrzeuge ist das Hotel-Parkhaus - selbst nach Einschätzung der Rezeption - denkbar ungeeignet. Das alternative Parkhaus Luisenplatz ist nahe gelegen, hat breite Parkplätze, ist aber mit 18 € pro Tag nicht gerade preisgünstig - und Preisvergünstigungen gibt es für Hotelgäste leider nicht.. Für den Gepäcktransport stehen zwar entsprechende Wagen bereit. Allerdings ist der Weg von dem vorübergehend gegenüber dem Hotel abgestellten Fahrzeug zum Hotel eine absolute Herausforderung. Mit einem voll beladenen Gepäckwagen lässt sich dieser auf dem Kopfsteinpflaster der Straße wie auch des Bürgersteigs kaum bewegen, Bordsteinabsenkungen sind Fehlanzeige und nur mit Hilfe von Passanten - wohl gemerkt nicht des Hotelpersonals - legt man den Weg ins Hotel mit Müh und Not zurück. Von der Rezeption kommt dann noch zu allem Überfluss der Kommentar „das ist aber auch wirklich viel Gepäck“. Das ist schon eine merkwürdige Form von Humor, bei der dem Gast das Lachen leider vergeht. Am Anreise-Sonntag (8. Mai 2022) stand das gebuchte Zimmer um 15 Uhr, also zur offiziellen Eincheckzeit, noch nicht zur Verfügung. Es wurde um eine Wartezeit gebeten. Den freien Zugang zum Hotel-Internet musste man erst erfragen. In der heutigen Zeit eigentlich ein absolutes No Go und nicht gerade Gast-orientiert. Wer vom Spaziergang über die bekannt sandigen Wege von Sanssouci zurückkehrt, sucht vergebens einen Schuhputzautomaten. Der Putzhandschuh im Schrank ist da eine unbefriedigende Alternative. Das Hotel ist ideal gelegen. Man erreicht fussläufig sowohl die Parkanlagen von Sanssouci als auch das Holländer-Viertel oder den Stadtkern. In unmittelbarer Nähe befinden sich Haltestellen für die Hopp-on/off Busse. Das Zimmer (hier 403) ist ruhig zu einem Innenhof gelegen und vom Design - wie auch u.a. Flure - in Grautönen gehalten; wenige helle Holzelemente setzen sich davon ab. Im Eingangsbereich befinden sich Spiegel und zwei Garderobenhaken. Regennasse Kleidung hängt damit unmittelbar auf der Tapete, was ungünstig wie auch unhygienisch ist. Der Kleiderschrank fällt vom Platzangebot nicht gerade üppig aus, was bei mehrtägigem Aufenthalt nachteilig ist. Direkt daneben befindet sich ein weiteres, überwiegend offenes Schrankelement für den Safe, die Kaffeemaschine sowie zusätzliche Ablagen. Die Platzierung unmittelbar gegenüber dem Waschbecken ist ungünstig, weil sich so häufiger zwei Personen gegenseitig im Weg stehen. Die Waschbeckenarmatur ist mit einem Bewegungsmelder versehen, was bei allem Respekt vor sparsamem Wasserverbrauch hier doch eher im Vergleich zu öffentlichen Toiletten unangebracht ist. Zum Thema Ökologie bleibt in diesem Zusammenhang erstaunlich, dass das Licht in der Dusche /WC anbleibt, obwohl die Zimmerkarte aus dem Kartenleser gezogen wurde. Das ist dann inkonsequen

Unfortunately, the hotel has the best years behind it. Putting women seem not to be able to book and stretch. And lack of service is excused with lack of staff. After a short rainfall and then again beautiful weather, the outer area is no longer operational. (Say: no staff to wash chairs) However, the few staff are mostly very friendly and premature. Eat ... naja .... For this price category you can actually expect something else. Great market sauce and every day the same breakfast offer leaves the desire to a great start of the day pass quickly. Overall, it's very bad that you have the impression that this object is slowly going before the dogs. Finally .... Reserving a room via any online provider (on the call at the hotel you get the information that direct booking is not possible) leads to extreme prices. 240€ for a night, with a breakfast that really leaves to wishes, is finally only sad.

The location of the hotel is great, only about 500 meters from the city center. Most sights can be reached on foot in a short time. The hotel is clean and the breakfast buffet is varied and has something for all guests, including scrambled eggs and bacon. There is an Edeka supermarket right next to the hotel. The house is recommended for a short stay of 2-3 days. For a longer period of time there are not enough places to put away the clothes in the room. A safe is available. The rooms are quiet. You don't hear anything from traffic unless you open the window. There was a problem when checking out. The documents presented at check-in that the room had been paid for in advance were not available. It is recommended not to hand in the original, but to have the employees make a copy. Then you have the documents to be on the safe side.
