"Arrives shortly after 3pm and was welcomed by Helen and Kelly. Two amazing ladies who made us feel very welcome ensuring we had everything for our stay. The room was clean, fresh and comfortable. Lots of hot water for showers and clean towels. Thank you both for a kind welcome. Highly recommend this travel lodge!!!"

The Leaping Salmon
"I booked this hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of August for myself, my husband and our 2 dogs. I paid the full amount asked for. We needed somewhere relaxing for a weekend break. 24 hours before our arrival I received a phone call from Paul, the new owner. He said that there were no facilities at the hotel. No restaurant, no bar facilities, no lounge area. I was really upset as we needed a ‘no problem’ weekend. With only 24 hours notice there was no time to make alternative arrangements besides we’d already paid in full. When we arrived about 3.30 pm the hotel was locked and we couldn’t get in. I phoned Paul several times before he answered. The room was clean but quite basic, no tv. Paul told us that cooked breakfast was not available. He provided us with 2 pots of instant porridge, 2 stale croissants, strawberries and an apple and satsuma. Not the cooked breakfast we’d seen on their website. Paul told us that he’d taken over the hotel 3 weeks ago and had experienced some problems and the changeover hadn’t been smooth. I told him how disappointed we were but he kept referring to the difficulties he had experienced ie that he hadn’t been paid by the previous owner for our stay. We are attempting to contact the previous owners as they hold the legal responsibility for accepting our booking, knowing that the sale of the hotel was going through. They were unable to provide promises that they had made. Our weekend was ruined!"
