Wonderful stay in a beautiful boutique hotel with great comfort and facilities. The hotelier was extremely helpful in every regard. The room was tastefully decorated with lots of extras including cake ! The breakfast was magnificent with high quality fresh produce. Enjoyed the quietness of the garden and locality. A perfect stay.

Fantastic stay at West Layton Manor, great location and so well looked after by the owner Richard. Beautiful rooms which were very well equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Lovely touches of homemade cake on arrival and a superb breakfast including fresh fruits, pastries, and whatever you choose cooked to order. Highly recommend.

Just stayed at this fantastic hotel. Ideally placed just off the A66 in an idyllic setting. Great places to visit near by, the Bowes museum is a must. Richard is a brilliant host providing great breakfasts and good local knowledge. The hotel is tastefully decorated throughout and everything is immaculate, plus comfy beds! I can highly recommend it for a great stay.

What a fantastic place My husband and I together with my daughter and her husband decided to have a weekend here after hearing all about it from my daughter and a friend. On arriving we went into the garden at the back of the property until our room was ready, we were welcomed by 2 fat geese a chicken which followed my husband around the garden and a gorgeous golden retriever who just wanted lots of strokes. Soon after Richard came to check us in. He was so welcoming and friendly, he showed us our room wich was amazing with a big 4 poster bed the comfiest bed we've ever slept in we didn't want to leave especially after the fabulous breakfast there was everything you wished for I even got a freshly laid egg from the little chicken. What a lovely weekend we can't wait to come back Thank you Richard

Just our kind of place. A lovely historic manor house with spacious, comfortable rooms, a lovely garden, and above all a friendly welcome. We were really made to feel at home here, and will certainly stay again especially as it is on our direct route to Scotland.

A warmer welcome and more amenable host, Richard, could not have been beaten. Nothing was too much trouble. Our group of 8 took over three rooms and one suite all of which were delightful. The Richmond suite was outstanding. Richard was a man who could do it all, this included delicious breakfasts in a lovely dining room for us all. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms were spotless. If you combine this stay with a meal at the Bay Horse, Ravensworth, you are on to a winner. Easy taxi journeys.

Once again , the standard was excellent . Richard and his team made us especially welcome and nothing was too much trouble . The breakfast is outstanding , as is the attention to detail. We would thoroughly recommend this venue and look forward to returning .

Beautiful house with stunning interiors. Warm welcome and fabulous breakfast. Great location and we used it as a base to explore all that Yorkshire had to offer. The house wraps itself around you and makes you want to never leave. We will be back, thank you so much.

We stopped overnight when travelling from Scotland to the midlands. West Layton Manor is very handily placed for the A66 and the A1 (near Scotch Corner) and well worth the money. The bed was comfortable, the service first rate, home backing in the room when we arrived, fresh milk in the fridge is a welcome change from the UHT in the likes of the Premier Inn. The cooked breakfast was huge (with a lovely variety of fruit etc as an alternative) and the whole setting very peaceful and relaxing. Richard looked after us very well and directed us to a village a few minutes drive away where we enjoyed a superb pub supper. We'd highly recommend the place and will be back when next we make the same journey. .
