If you book a table make sure you get photographic evidence of it or written confirmation. I booked in person at the bar i watched as she supposidly wrote it in then when we turned up she dinied i had made a booking. I was not on any medication, i was not drunk and am not prone to hallucinations. The first thing she said when i ask for the table was she was fully booked and had over 40 in the resturant. I believed she had over booked and she hates to apologise. So travellers beware.

What a beautiful place. Lovely spacious room, beautifully decorated. Quiet overnight. Comfy bed, lots to choose from in the tea and coffee tray, luxury toiletries and nice big towels. The breakfast was really good with a nice choice. Friendly and welcoming staff. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

Camped in Winsford at the weekend and eat at the Royal Oak on the first night and had a drink there on the second night. Relaxed and friendly pub with friendly staff. Mix of visitors and locals and all obviously welcome which is not always the case in village pubs. Had a great pizza which was tasty-and large (though smaller option available ). Many thanks.

What a wonderful place and what wonderful people! My wife and I spent 4 nights here as part of a wedding anniversary celebration and we could not have made a better choice. Jayne was proactively helpful with our booking, welcoming and attentive throughout our stay; the perfect hostess. The room was lovely and everything from the linen to the bathroom accessories was of the highest quality. We chose to eat in every night and the food was, without exception, superb. The building just oozes character, is in a tranquil setting and is ideally placed for exploring the area. Would we go back? Like a shot!! Thank you so much Jayne, and please pass our thanks to your brilliant team. We very much hope to see you again.

The Royal Oak Inn is a wonderful place to stay. Our room (room 5) was extremely large and comfortable, with a lovely bathroom and excellent shower. The food at both breakfast and dinner was first class. The staff were all very welcoming, and so too were the locals in the lovely bar. Alfie, our HUGE golden retriever was made very welcome. A timeless serenity pervades throughout, and is an ideal place to switch off and have an enjoyable break. Winsford is a lovely village and there are lots of enjoyable walks around and about. Many thanks - we will be back.

The room was fantastic lovely comfortable bed bathroom was really nice. Loved all the little quirky things like the mannequin light. Lounge and pub area very cosy. Food amazing . Staff were very friendly and welcoming would definately return. Tanya Crocker

Every once in a while you come across a great inn and pub. The Royal Oak is not that, it is far superior. We spent 3 nights there, and one of us took ill. Jane, one of the owners, went out of her way to try and arrange an appointment with her local GP. Steve took time out of his busy schedule to assist on another matter. The personal hands-on approach shown by the owners is what makes this inn so much better than most. Our room was large and spacious, and excellently well maintained, and the food was excellent.
