We had a great 2-night stay in Ardmore House. Lovely sized sea view room and ensuite complete with Bath and Shower. Excellent King-sized comfortable bed with really comfy pillows. Rooms were spotlessly clean. Noreen and Pat were extremely helpful and friendly and on check in Noreen booked a local restaurant for us as she advised it being a Tuesday night not all restaurants were open. The breakfast was very good and there was a very good selection available including freshly cooked dishes. All in all a lovely stay in this family run hotel

Pat and Noreen are gracious hosts. We could see the ocean from our window. It was beautiful property. Nice building. Great room. Excellent breakfast just outside of Westport which we liked cuz it was quiet and beautiful. We spent three nights there in June 2025 highly recommended. Great value, Brian

Very very tired and dated appearance. Only 2 positives are the comfy bed and the chatty male co owner. Bathroom towels were rock hard, the toiletries consisted of a 10ml bottle of cheap shampoo and a 3 inch bar of cheap soap, even the toilet paper was only single ply. Because the cooked breakfast on the first morning was made with low quality produce, I decided to forego it on the second morning. The B&B rate per night is an eye watering €170. They charge €12.20 for a G&T. THIS IS NOT ANYTHING NEAR A 4 STAR ESTABLISHMENT. Tonight, I'm staying in an ACTUAL 4 star hotel. It's really lovely in every way. The rate here is €142 and a G&T is €8.20.

An old style hotel, very chilled atmosphere, very clean and spacious. Breakfast was nice, staff were very friendly. 5 min walk to the Quays, 5 min drive to Westport Only downside, the mattress on our bed was very hard and didn't make for a cosy night's sleep. Location wise, Croke Patrick 5 mins away, Old Head a few more mins and all around is stunning landscape. The local Guinness was delicious, as good as a pint anywhere for me. We had a meal in The Sheebeen, 2 mins away which was stunning (crab claws were to die for). Great food and great staff work there. Location wise top notch, cost was reasonable, decor / rooms old fashioned.

Positives Good bed, clean room, large room, daily towel change, ample parking, views, Negatives All round fawlty towers experience The owner was inflexible when asked about basic needs. My wife is visually impaired so we asked if it was possible to have breakfast on one of the tables by the window each day as the rest of dining area was quite dark. She said that she wouldn’t guarantee that. The landing lights that led to our room were often not on so we asked if it was possible to have them on so that my wife could see the stairs. She said that they were on a timer. When questioned about changing the timer as the lights were randomly on and off over the next couple of days she said that we should tell her what time we leave our room and return and she will turn on the light when needed. I would have been happy to pay the extra few cents to run an led lightbulb all day but that wasn’t going to change her approach. We were offered a smaller room on a lower floor which was darker than the one we had instead of leaving the light on for us. Breakfast choices were limited and asking to mix items on the menu was met with a frosty response. Even changing our drink order (tea or coffee) or toast order day by day seemed to be met with disapproval. The shower in the room was next to a sloping roof so it was tricky to climb in and out of. As you can see, our issues are more about the owners than the property, to the point where it was easier to avoid any discussions due to the frosty unhelpful responses. Also if you have any access needs be prepared to wind your watch back 50 years on arrival as any slightly off piste simple request will be frowned upon.

This wonderful establishment, provides the most comfortable accommodation. It’s hosts, Pat and his lovely Wife, go out of their way to ensure that all our needs were catered for. Breakfast is plentiful with a huge choice. Clean and well maintained, this tradition Irish Hotel, is perfectly located, being a short walk to the local amenities. The Hotel is elevated, providing views over the water and the Mountains. Relaxation In abundance!!

We had a lovely stay here. It was very clean and spacious and the beds are comfy. Staff are friendly and helpful - we had a problem with our room key and they fixed it right away! Breakfast was great with a varied choice. Westport Quay is a lovely place to stay with quite a few places to eat and drink if you didn’t want to wonder into Westport, however it’s a only a short 20mins walk if you do! My four stars is because I do feel that the decor is a old fashioned - however that’s just down to personal taste!
