went last week on a coach trip to the Berkeley Hotel . Clean enough but needs a lot of updating . Food was awful . especially breakfast .Ordered the day before it was obviously plated for us ready when we went in to eat . Was cold and not at all nice. Staff were very friendly and did their best to make us comfortable. Don't think I would stay here again though

This hotel caters for coach parties very well. The staff are all very friendly and efficient. The whole building and bed rooms are very clean and fresh. We were in room 114 which gave great sea views. The food was all well. Cooked and plentiful so that all our party felt they put on weight. This is not the Ritz but provides all one needs to enjoy a holiday at a very reasonable price

I stayed at the Berkeley hotel three years ago,so remembered the great location and friendly staff. I had seaview room 307,near the lift, third floor, great views. I had no complaints about the food. Good choices made the night before and beautifully cooked. Excellent cooked breakfast, although one morning after my porridge,I had double egg on toast. Plenty of toast,tea/ coffee. We had to prebook the evening meals, but the choices were excellent, especially the roast. The kitchen/ waiting staff were all lovely and polite. A really helpful young barman who sorted out my taxi number to Abbotsbury Swannery. My room was seen to every morning by the lovely Maria. I didn’t take part in the evening entertainment as so much to look at round town. On the Thursday night was the vintage car and motorbike rally on the seafront. My only problem was the shower took a long time to get hot water. All in all,the hotel is fine, great position, lovely hardworking staff and nice food. Really enjoyed my visit.

Disgusted with this hotel to start ROOM Carpet filthy and uneven. Shower So small you can’t even turn around no soap shampoo or anything bathroom floor needed a good clean . RESTAURANT a joke ok if you want to lose weight full English 1 small sausage 1egg 1 piece of bacon 1/2 tomato don’t ask for extras no chance not even any extra toast STAFF ok if you humour them. Any hotel staff never to be seen the only good guy is Marcus the barman who seems to do everything when on duty only plus is location. Also they bring you a cup of hot water to put your tea/coffee in?, and charge you if yo want any extra teabags/coffee PATHETIC

Basic and dated. Terrible uninspired menu. Very stingy with potions. Great place to come if you want to loose weight. Set meals time - no flexibility. No shower soap. Very few sockets in the room. Staff ok if you humour them………………………………………….

Just back from the Berkley hotel , we stayed mon/ fri on a coach trip, the hotel is right on the sea front near the town, we stayed in room no 4 a small room at the back of the hotel , no sun , food was OK, they dont give you tea or coffee but hot water and a satchet thats a first ! they only play bingo if enough people turn up !! they said they had two coaches in but only ten people in the concert room a few weeks ago !! we had a artist two nights out of four beer price £3 80 for John Smiths bar man Marcus is crackers but good, a lot of young staff and they were good good trip

Near beach and town. Clean comfy bed. Difficult shower to work. Helpful staff. Good choice of meals and nice size portions. A nice stay at this hotel. I would recommend it. The only thing that spoil it is noisy drunks going to their room late! But that is in any hotel. And the blame is on the guests not the hotel staff.

We visited with gee vee tours 8th to 15th June . The room 114 excellent .good comfortable beds nice walk in shower and amazing views from 2 big windows ,Restaurant ok and excellent service from serving staff. Food adequate but breakfast menu , hash browns OR fried bread ,and fruit juice or cereals ,REALLY !!!!One of the main things for us is the entertainment which was ok but only on 3 nights and spoiled by a group at the back of the room who were louder than the artists throughout , why come in the entertainment room if you don’t want to be entertained …We spent 4 evenings in the Prince regent nearby who had some good entertainers on stage which compensated for lack of it in The Berkeley ,,
