Place was good and clean. As we don’t drive location was not really good for us though there was bus stop near to the place. It would be fine if there was no holidays, but since we went on new years there was no bus on that day and having an early flight we have to go before sunrise and there was no streetlight at all, it was scary. I guess we just booked it at the wrong time of the year, unless you drive it would be a good place to stay.

Let’s talk about the advantages first. This inn is just on the outskirts of Edinburgh, about 10 kilometers away, and has a good location. Accommodation in Edinburgh is expensive and parking is difficult. Therefore, it is quite a good choice to stay here; in addition, parking is very convenient, there is a parking lot in front of the hotel, and there are sufficient parking spaces. At 9 pounds a night, this parking fee is simply a bargain in the UK and is very friendly for self-driving. You can see the British pastoral scenery from the door of the inn, which is very beautiful. The disadvantage is that the price is not cheap and there is no elevator. Although the floor is not high, there are only 3 floors, but if you have a lot of luggage, it will take a while. The air conditioner in the room cannot be adjusted by itself and it is very hot. Nothing wrong with anything else.

Good location. Found hair in the mushroom batter. Put me off total meal. Beware. Rooms ok, but need desperately updating, hall skirting boards paint on floor, not as clean as room looks. Most staff friendly. If the Premier managers read these, then take action.

Filthy hotel. I used to travel to premier inns regularly pre 2020. This is the first time I’ve stayed in one since. I booked it without looking at reviews as premier inns, had in the past, always delivered good, clean basic accommodation. How this has changed, at least at the Musselburgh hotel. Check-in was efficient. No small chat, just handed form to fill in, key to room and directions. Got to room, looked the usual. I picked up the remote to turn the tv on and I seen how disgusting the remote was! I’ve been in a lot of hotels and know the remotes are generally the most unhygienic but never before has it been so visible. That then made me open my eyes more to the room. Looked at the kettle, it was filthy covered in dust. The carpet, all around the perimeter was a layer of thick dust. The black stains on the carpet…..were not stains, they were used fake eyelashes. The carpet had clearly not been hoovered anywhere for a while! Walked into the bathroom, every wall, ceiling, door frame covered in black mould spores. The bed side lamps and lamp on the desk was degraded and rusted. One of the usb sockets at bed was broke. The lining of the curtains contained black mould! The fan, although worked, the highest spin speed button wouldn’t stay down to keep fan on so I had to put a heavy weight on it to keep it on. I then looked at the reviews on trip advisor and was appalled to see how bad they were. However, on reviewing these I opted not to go to reception and ask to change rooms. For one it was already very late as I had checked in late and secondly based on the reviews, at least I could see that my bed was clean…when other rooms I could be taking a risk that they weren’t, hence I stayed. The state of this was shocking, particularly as black mould can kill! Health and safety should be involved.

Avoid this hotel at all costs The room was disgusting, Dusty, Dirty & bottles in bathroom have never been changed, Taps on the bath/shower were awful, booked for two adults but only 1 set of towels so had to go and get more Smoking area right under window so constant noise from people down there chatting at all hours , mostly booked by work men working away from home Paid for breakfast in advance but on arrival (after 9 hrs traveling ) get told only continental available for the rest of week. Restaurant isn't much better either. Spoke to staff about issues wasn't offered another room just given details to complain, which I have and then they only refund the cheapest of the two night stay we were there Building needs a total revamp to bring up to the standards of a hotel rather than a hovel

We stayed here to attend a family wedding and was blown away by the service, especially from Brandon at the front desk. Although we checked in quite late, he went above and beyond to make sure our check-in was quick and easy. He even helped with our bags on arrival and offered some great local recommendations as the restaurant was closed. The hotel itself was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Unfortunately the breakfast at the Brewers Fayre was cold.

The bed is not clean. The bed sheet and towels are dirty. We request to change the bed linen, and they did change, so it’s okay. The room is spacious though. It has free parking if you stay in this hotel. The bath feels dirty, but it’s fine, we are just using shower anyway. Restaurant is next to the hotel, but we did not visit , so I cannot comment it.
