Premier Inn Whitehaven ★★★
"Stayed for one night. Room basic and bathroom floor could have been cleaner. Questionable marks on the toilet seat and lid. Room had all I needed for a night. Bed was comfortable and reception staff were friendly. Had to turn the room temp down to stop the heater coming on during the night as it made really loud noises. Very poor soundproofing from the room above - sounded like someone was running from one end of the room to the other at one point! Breakfast next door was poor. Not refilled quickly and the last bits left under the lamps were stone cold. Eventually got a hot hash brown but absolutely nothing else was remotely warm, let alone hot. Glad I didn’t go for a meal during the evening. The signs about limited staff meaning you had to book (even a mid-week table for one!) put me off. At about £140 for a night, it wasn’t great value for a basic product."
Georgian House Hotel ★★★★
"Hotel looks stunning from outside so pretty. Lounge area comfortable & delicious cocktail before dinner. Lovely staff food was delicious we had a lovely evening"
The Mansion ★★★
"I travelled for a business meeting. The Mansion B&B is a family run enterprise, very welcoming, very homely, very clean. I didn't use the pool but will next time... on a hill so great views and great value for money. I'd highly recommend it if in Whitehaven vicinity."
Moresby Hall Country House Hotel ★★★
"I arrived on a stormy night in the lake district - on entering the hotel I was met with a warm glow from the log fire and a very warm welcome from the receptionist. As the hotel dining room was about to close, a room was sorted and the kitchen kept open for an evening meal - a delicious melt in the mouth steak was a pleasure after a 6 hour drive from the south of england, washed down with a welcome glass of Shiraz. The bed was very comfortable, the room had a large bath and separate shower cubicle and copious hot water. The decor and fittings were in sympathy with the age and history of the hotel, a pleasant change from the blandness of more modern mass market hotels. The staff were very friendly and it was a pleasure to be assisted without having to use automated impersonal systems. I will not hesitate to stay at the hotel again when I am next in the area."
Chase Hotel ★★★
"We stayed at the hotel for our annual Xmas party could fault any of it the food was amazing the rooms clean tidy and warm the staff couldn’t do enough for us breakfast had plenty of choice both cooked and continental the Christmas tree was stunning will definitely visit again"
