From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, ensuring our stay was comfortable and relaxing. The room was spotlessly clean and well-appointed, with beautiful views. We enjoyed dining at the hotel's restaurant, ordering from the a la carte menu. The food was absolutely delicious - fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. The service was attentive and prompt as well. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at The Wilderness Hotel. The combination of the beautiful natural setting, the hospitable staff, and the excellent dining made for a truly memorable stay. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a rejuvenating retreat in a stunning environment, close to the beach.

If I could rate this hotel zero stars I would. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the General Manager’s behaviour. He was aggressive, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Despite quietly using hotel facilities, we were treated unfairly and made to feel unwelcome. This incident significantly lowered our perception of ANEW as a brand, which claims to uphold high hospitality standards. While I’m at it, all the managers in each department are extremely rude, entitled and dismissive. It’s clear they have zero training in hospitality and professionalism. Management tries to excuse their behavior with the line “we’re under new management”, being under new management doesn’t excuse the disgusting way guests are treated. However, the rest of hotel staff are polite and helpful, especially at reception. Rooms are outdated, lighting is terrible and the bed sheets aren’t changed.

Unfortunately, our experience with this hotel was very disappointing. In September, we had a confirmed group booking for 18 people arriving by motorbike. On the morning en route to the hotel, we were informed that it was undergoing refurbishment and was not ready, and that we had been moved to another hotel in a different town. While the staff there were pleasant, the alternative accommodation was clearly not of a comparable standard. As we were due to return with a larger group a week later, we decided to cancel the second booking due to concerns about reliability. The hotel confirmed in writing that we would receive a refund plus 20% compensation for the initial booking. We are now at the end of November and, despite repeated follow-ups, the matter has not been resolved. We have been told the issue lies with previous management, but as guests, that is not our responsibility. Based on the poor handling of this situation and the complete lack of follow-through, we would strongly advise others to think very carefully before booking here

My wife and I spend time annually at The Wilderness Hotel for the past 8 to 10 years The Wilderness Hotel has now been sold to ANEW Resorts group We spent the evening of the 11th to the 12th/10/25 and advise for public knowledge and our travel group of our terrible experience. The rates for the room were horribly overpriced. The room was the size of a cupboard and the beds were children size that our feet were hanging off the ends. Only one small bar of soap!! The floors were old and the cupboard smelled mushy. The aircon was directly over the bed. Couldn't find a parking as the visitors took preference to the residence. The veranda had broken chairs and the wooden floor planks were splitting. Could not walk barefoot. Not again!!!! Manny Galanakis

We booked into the hotel during massive renovations and there was very little consideration to our comfort and barely any communication, we had no idea of the extent of the renovations or we may have changed dates. Thankfully the staff member who booked us in (once we found where the reception area had been moved to via the dirty back entrance of the hotel) moved us to a room away from the sounds of jackhammering. We were not informed that the restaurant and bar would be closed nor were there any signs up. We were left wondering the hotel trying to find out where we could have breakfast. We couldn’t even order a cup of coffee. No staff member seemed to know what was going on either. We have sent 2 emails to the management regarding our experience and have had no response. While we made the best of it, as it was a celebration of our wedding anniversary, it was a very bleak experience. And I’m shocked that there seems to be no care for the guests in their quest to make the hotel look nice, not to mention following basic hospitality standards.
