The staff, including Katie, Emma, and Andrew, received high praise for exceptional service. The spa, gym, and pool were appreciated for relaxation and fitness. However, some guests found the rooms claustrophobic and outdated.

I booked and paid for a superior room based on your offer, as I have stayed in this room before. However, I was given a shabby, small room, number 14. It seems rooms 14 and 15 are reserved for guests you no longer wish to see. The explanation from the friendly receptionist was that the hotel was fully booked, which was not true. She tried to make up for the situation with a practical gift from Champneys, but the claustrophobic room and the difficulty of accessing it with a large suitcase after a long journey were unpleasant. The hotel incorrectly judged me based on my attire, even though I intended to use their facial massage services, which were very professional, as were their massages and the products they use. Everything that was old seven years ago is now seven years older and even more worn out. Breakfasts are modest but healthy. They could use more fresh herbs, which they once grew in the spa gardens, now overgrown with weeds. Guests leave their plates and glasses on the lawn, and no one picks them up promptly. The spa lacks organization, except on weekends when older women step in to help, solving problems more quickly and efficiently. I am disappointed because it is not fair to deceive customers regarding room types. While the room lacked nothing and was regularly cleaned, it was next to a smelly toilet, and I was promised a superior room but given a standard one, as indicated on the temporary card received upon arrival. However, I must commend the lady who has diligently worked there for 30 years. It would be nice if she were friendly even when not promoting their services. If improvements are not made to the facilities and surroundings, there is no reason for me to return specially after the room switch and no difference in the price.

My stay from start to finish was one of pure luxury and enjoyment. From the warm greeting at reception to the lovely lady who showed me to my room, the staff could not of been more friendly and helpful. My room, the facilities and whole building were absolutely stunning. I went with two friends and after dinner we sat and played cards infront of a huge log fire in a room that could of been in hogwarts. I had booked a massage on the day of my arrival but unfortunately there was a bit of a mix up with the booking, I was given a complimentary session on the wave bed which was fantastic and rebooked my treatment for the next morning. I had body radiance with lina, I can not recommend her enough. As someone who suffers with back problems the massage with her was incredible. From the start with the all over body scub which made my skin feel so soft to the actual massage. I could feel all the sore knots in my back and especially my shoulder blades dissolving, she truly worked magic in that room... if I pass though those doors again I would one million percent book another treatment with her.. thank you

Somewhat disappointed overall… no lifts, all steps, long walk from the car park. Should’ve done my research before going-I have mobility issues and this spa does not seem to accommodate for people like myself. Felt like forever getting to the actual spa - once there it was a lovely place to be, although you had to hunt for a bed/chair as it was Mother’s Day weekend so very popular. Definitely would not recommend if you have problems walking/taking the stairs.

Just returned from a lovely stay at Champneys. All the staff that we met were amazing. I wanted to give a shout out to Mo in the restaurant. He was friendly, professional and nothing was too much trouble. We didn't feel rushed atall whilst in the restaurant. The food was amazing and his service added to the whole experience. I love the renovations they have done at this resort. The only negative for me is the price of the treatments. I used to love a treatment but feel the prices are too high now. The dressing gowns seemed softer than ever! The cleanliness was great all over the resort. Overall, an amazing stay. Thank you to all the team at Champneys!

We stayed for a weekend. Without question, the standout member of staff for us was Jodie, the Manager. Jodie showed us to our room which was lovely. She was polite, friendly, professional and personable. Every time throughout our stay Jodie saw us, she checked in that we were happy. Jodie was on the front desk, she was serving food, cleaning tables and in every area of the hotel. We saw her at breakfast and working late the night before. It was lovely to hear the staff speak so highly of her too. A fantastic stay that was a bit a bit more special by Jodie!
