The hotel description on the website is nothing like the hotel location. Its at a very noisy service station. There are no restaurants or pubs within walking distance and a taxi to the nearest town is £20 each way. The rooms facing the motorway are very noisy and so we didn't get any sleep at all. The manager is unavailable to resolve any customer complaints. We drive 2 hours for an overnight stay for a wedding and due to lack of sleep caused by loud guests. Absolutely disappointed.

We always choose this hotel when visiting our family nearby, and it never disappoints. The rooms are consistently spotless, and the staff go out of their way to be helpful and welcoming. During our 3-day stay last week, we were especially impressed to see the manager personally helping clean rooms each day—he even took the time to chat with us and treat the kids to hot chocolates and Kit Kats, which they loved! The only downside of our visit was an unfortunate encounter with another guest who was extremely rude to the lovely receptionist, Gladys. Despite the situation, Gladys handled it very well. Even the guest’s husband seemed embarrassed and eventually walked away, unable to get her to leave the reception area. Overall, we had another great stay and look forward to coming back again soon.
