We had a wonderful time at the Lainston House. The hotel itself is beautiful but what sets it apart is the staff and the food! Both were absolutely exceptional. The Sunday roast in the Wellhouse is simply incredible as is the Avenue restaurant. Ask for the Vivanco Rioja you won’t be disappointed.

A fantastic weekend in a stunning country hotel. I knew it was going to be great from the moment we walked in. A friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Incredible food from masterchef Tom, and brilliant service. Our room was well equipped, comfortable and clean.

A truly wonderful, relaxing stay! Could not fault anything...Laniston House itself is beautiful yet homely. Gorgeous grounds, stunning room overlooking the Lime Tree Avenue. Bed and bed linen so comfortable. Lunch in The Cedar room excellent and equally was the breakfast! Welcoming happy staff...one of our most enjoyable weekend breaks! Will certainly return.

Whilst only here for a short business trip, I was distinctly unimpressed. The hotel had problems with water, which may well have been outside their control, so in itself it was understandable. What was disappointing was being sent to their ‘sister’ hotel in Winchester, which was distinctly inferior (room wasn’t even clean). No apology or anything. I would also characterise the food as average for what is meant to be a 5 star hotel. This is my third visit but sadly will be my last.

My wife and I, accompanied by friends, have just spent the night at Lainston House with dinner in the Avenue. The overall level of service and the attitude of all the staff was extremely good. The Tasting Menu in the Avenue was superb and it was good to meet Tom Hamblet, who is clearly an outstanding chef, supported by an exceptional team. Thanks to everyone, we will return.

Stunning venue in the most beautiful location! Having spent only one night at Lainston House, I didn't want to leave the next day! Service was exceptional from arrival to departure. I stayed in the Dragonfly room which was so peaceful, the bed was one of the most comfortable I've stayed in and the small touches went a long way. I would highly recommend experiencing the tasting menu with wine pairings too. All courses were so impressive and the service by Nick was excellent. Breakfast too was 10/10! Thank you to the wonderful team at Lainston House, I will be returning!
