AMAZING! Take it from a well-seasoned traveler, this hotel has everything you need and more. From a courteous welcome from the evening hotel front desk agent, to a relaxing bed and refreshments available in the lobby 24/7, I think this is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Breakfast was beyond amazing- hot options (scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes), the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was great. The gym was great, hot tub also top notch. Another reason I liked this hotel was that it was very quiet- its not popular with kids and I love that. Most people lodging here are travelers passing by or workers who make for great neighbors. Everyone is fast asleep after what I presume must have been a hard days work or drive. The only con for me is that the location is too far west. But this is a pro for travelers coming off the perimeter. 5 STAR service at a super affordable price, a no-brainer. BOOK NOW!

Enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay-cation at the Holiday Inn - Airport West! Welcoming and friendly service, spacious and spotless room, silky sheets on the king bed, and excellent amenities in the room. Despite the pandemic, we were able to use the pool - an efficient and fair sign-up process gave us 1 hour/day (could have been more). The continental breakfast was not included, but the location is excellent and we could easily walk across the street for sushi & bubble tea, pizza, steak, and more! Also a Shoppers Drug Mart and Liquor Mart right across the street. And, if you want some exercise, this hotel is a close jaunt to the beautiful Assiniboine Park & Zoo!
Relax with contemporary amenities and superior service at Lakeview Signature Trademark Collection by Wyndham offering a free 24/7 shuttle to Winnipeg Richardson International Airport YWG which is less than a kilometer away. This was an overnight, weekend leisure stay for a nearby event. Despite having never stayed here before, the location was very convenient and the website photos were encouraging. Booking was simple using the website and check in was pleasant. On entering the room, the temperature was noticeably hot. Uncomfortably hot. We assessed this was because of direct sunlight coming through the window so we closed the shade somewhat and beeped the temperature down on the thermostat. Due to our schedule, and not thinking it would be an issue, we left immediately and didn't advise the desk. On return later that evening, the room was still incredibly hot (~25-30C) despite the thermostat being set to 19C. We had another timeline to make but we advised the desk on leaving. We were told the room temperature was ”centrally controlled” and that it wasn't possible to change it. We were offered a change of room but this was impossible as we had to leave immediately. We were offered a fan which we accepted. On return to the room the 3rd time later that night, the temperature was ridiculously high and nearly unbearable; the vent was blowing hot. The fan was of little use as the window would not open so it simply circulated stale air. We also noticed the blinds would not fully close so early morning sunlight brought an abrupt end to an already terrible night's sleep. On check out, the person at the desk made no inquiry into the quality of our stay and we simply left the keys on the desk. I then had to call the hotel later for a copy of the receipt as one wasn't emailed. I stay in hotels 60+ nights/year and this was one of the worst for quality, value and customer service. I will not be returning.

The worst experience of my life. I am one of the Elite member with Wyndham. Last year had incident with one Days Inn hotel insects I complaint but no reply since then I moved to Hilton group. The reason I booked this hotel as I wanted to use my left over points before it expires. I booked 3 nights and it was confirmed booking which was also verified by Wyndham customer support and front office but when I arrived from hotel after day exhaustion from Toronto I was told due to Sales booking I don't have any room and they can't do anything I just have to wait. I arrived 11 pm and I took Days of to go for Hunting. Had to wake early but the Frint office had no idea what to do as it was not in their control. None of the management was there to support this matter. It was not knly me other 4-5 guests were also had this issue. After 10-15 min wait when I asked that they have to update me as I have to leave for hunt in 5 hrs I need a place to rest. I was told by the night staff that if I keep arguing they will call security and kick me out. That's what I deserve as being a Elite member customer. After 1 hr of struggle calling Wyndham head offices, a staff member offered me that he will get me a hotel in middle of downtown but they don't have car Park. I was not comfortable to accept then they given me finally a room after 1 hr which as you can see in pic with water leakage, paint issues. It's a Beautiful hotel no doubt but Trust me worst Management. They will not take as a guest instead a number give your room to other on favoritism or higher rates. Pls be aware if you don't want to mess your holidays. IT messed my hard earned holidays.

Outside hotel was littered with trash. People milling around in and around lobby. Hotel was an evacuation centre for a northern reserve due to forest fire. Our room was scheduled on third floor and with a comment on the evacuees being on that floor we requested to be moved to another floor which the desk attendant gladly granted. The elevator was littered with trash. A huge footprint on the elevator door. Security was on each floor. Our floor was quiet. Our room was nicely prepared. Around 11 pm the police arrived to break up an altercation in the front entrance of the hotel. Paramedics and the fire truck arrived to assist. Male was stabbed by a female and both were cuffed and removed by police. People were out front until well passed 2:30am. Lots of sirens all night long. It was a tiring night. They comped us with free breakfast but did not go as previous reviews said breakfast was not worth the effort. We will not be returning.

The suites are great. Very spacious. Clean. Great amenities for a lengthy stay. My floor was quiet and I could not hear noises from other rooms at all. Beds are comfy. All of the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a grab and go (Covid related I am assuming as their is quite a large dining area that is closed). As good of options as possible to take back to your room as one could expect I would say. One suggestion would be to add bread as an option as well. The one big downside to my stay was, the security presence was alarming. I figured out why after the last three nights. My room was facing the parking lot and another hotel. Throughout the night and into the morning there is constant yelling, flighting swearing and screaming from other hotel guests lingering around outside. I think the security folks are doing their best by being a presence but it’s not enough to prevent the constant disruption. I’m going to try moving “across the hall” to the other side of the hotel, assuming it will be better as i won’t be facing the hotel parking lot. Aside from this issue, the hotel is pretty darn perfect. Thus why I gave it 4 stars. Unfortunately, the constant sleep interruptions is a major issue.

Chose this because my usual Delta was fully booked. Location is close to airport and downtown (although I was warned by locals that it is not safe to take a walk around). Hotel itself is classic Residence Inn. Spacious rooms with all amenities. Reception staff provided welcome chocolates and water bottles every time I asked. Some of the places needed more cleanliness & upkeep as the place was rundown except the lobby area. Overall, a decent two night stay.

GGuest UserOn the whole my experience was very good. I was told I would have a certain room but upon arrival another identical room was provided. When I made the reservation I asked for an early check in, as I have a physical disability, and was told they would do their best to accomodate me. It did take longer than expected even after I arrived an hour later than planned but it was still ”early”. Noah is a Star at the front desk and was super helpful and professional while delivering a genuine and personable demeanor. Later I received a call from another representative at the front desk asking how the room was, which is a nice touch and I arranged for a ”Wake-Up Call” for the next morning. The ”Wake-Up Call” was not delivered though. The noise of the operating elevators was noticeable. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The toilet was very low to the ground;one of the lowest I've ever seen but the shower and the finishes in the Bathroom were very good. I would definitely stay there again. Details are so important and when they are not performed well it lets the entire Team down. Quality service at any price- point is worth the effort just as is a Quality pay-scale. Reputation is Everything.
PPassport64475270406We spent two midweek nights here. This lovely downtown hotel was built in 1913, and has a beautiful early 20c lobby. If you stay in an historic hotel, you have to understand that some things will not be as good as staying at a modern hotel. For example, bedrooms and bathrooms will often be smaller, there may not be a pool, etc. But for us, being a part of history is enjoyable, and we've stayed in many hotels with an historic background. We found the Fort Garry to be a lovely place---the historic vibe is definitely there. The hotel's location is great---you can walk to the riverside Forks Historic District, with its famous market, museums, etc. And the hotel is only a block from the historic railroad station. Yes, our room was a bit small, but the bed was comfortable. We asked for a room with a good view, and got one on the 5th floor with a nice view of the railroad station and garden areas nearby. The staff here were exceedingly friendly, from the front desk staff to the restaurant servers. For example, our breakfast server from the previous day made a special effort to come over and talk to us the next day, even though she was not our server that day. Really good effort to make you feel comfortable! The hotel has a very nice fitness room, but no pool (you can pay for pool privileges at an adjacent building). The beautiful hotel restaurant (Oval Room) also reeks of history. We had breakfast there two times and dessert (not dinner) once. It's highly rated, and the food was very good. Parking here can be an issue. You can self-park on a fairly small one floor lot on the hotel's first floor, or down below in a basement garage. The first floor lot often fills up with patrons of the restaurant or business functions, but the basement lot was never full, and we used that one on both nights of our stay. Just note that the basement garage has no elevator. Overall, we had a delightful stay at the Fort Garry.
GGuest UserI enjoyed staying at Alt hotel in winnipeg. The design of the room was phenomenal - loved the high ceiling bathroom in my suite, the view of winnipeg downtown, and overall interesting placement of items and textures of the room itself. A lot of thought went into the decision making of the rooms and it payed off. I had forgotten my little music speaker at home but the alarm clock had a Bluetooth speaker so that was great! The hotel is in a good location to access downtown restaurants, etc. The Merchant restaurant right next to the hotel had delicious food! The gym was nice and spacious. The staff were all helpful and rooms were kept clean! I will stay again, thank you.
GGuest UserI booked a room at this location to have a night’s rest while driving across Canada. This hotel is conveniently located near the highway and food establishments. After a long day of driving we arrived at this hotel for the night. I found the bed had been made up; however clearly not changed. There were many hairs on the sheets and the bedspread. The gentleman working at the front desk came down to see it and immediately brought fresh linens. Changing the bed was the last thing I felt like doing after a day of driving. When I travel, I always bring cleaning wipes and do my own surface clean, especially since COVID. I was mortified to see how dirty the wipes were after wiping off the desk and counter. It was bad enough that I brought the wipes to the front desk to show the gentleman working. If it wasn’t for the apologies and pleasant demeanour of the gentleman working at the front desk I would have packed up and left. Unfortunately, someone not doing their job can reflect negatively on the whole establishment. I would highly recommend management doing regular checks. I do have to say once settled the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. There is an odour of stale cigarette smoke, likely from people smoking outside the patio doors. All of the front staff were very pleasant. This was the first Choice Hotel that I was actually acknowledged as a Diamond member. I can’t speak about breakfast options as I was gone early. Would I stay again, no. The manager did reverse my charges for the inconvenience.
CchiwaiThe sound of air condition was quite loud but compare to the sound of the shower, it was relatively not that bad. The water flow pressure makes the sound over 5 mins before it became normal.
We expected Fairmount standard higher than we experienced.
MManjinder toorVery clean and comfortable room with all mod cons - more spacious than most in this central location in a capital city and the price was very reasonable for all on offer. Excellent wi-fi, nice toiletries, great choice at breakfast. The staff were very helpful, organising our taxi and allowing us to stay in the room after check out time so we could freshen up before we left for the airport.
The only issue we had about the stay was the noise from the street. The hotel is in an area near some fast food restaurants and bars. The first night of the stay we were awoken by someone blasting out music in the very early hours of the morning. The following morning the bin men woke us at 5am. Nothing the hotel can do about this but if you are considering this hotel and won't be out partying till the early hours yourself maybe ask for a room on a high floor facing away from the street.
BBirdie13The only reason cleanliness is rated a 3 is because our room had a smell to it (not bad, it could just be the cleaning products), other than that it was clean. It’s located on the outskirts of winnipeg which is lovely for driving out of town. The service was awesome, everyone from workers to people staying was friendly, it is a very welcome and warm environment. We ended up with a top floor room and was able to move onto the ‘motel’ style rooms, which was very appreciated. The breakfast that comes with the hotel really exceeded our expectations, REAL eggs, the crispiest best hash browns, and the toast was bacon was good too. They had an interesting cinnamon bun french toast that i’d definitely try next time. They have a pantry/ little convenience store in the lobby, and I’d say the prices are reasonable, definitely would expect them to be more. On the downside the beds are on the stiffer side, but the pillows are of good quality. this wouldn’t be my first choice to come back to in winnipeg but for the price and good meal included, it’s top #5.
TTravels-with-ClaireI quite enjoyed the room—particularly the floors, as the dingy carpet so typical in these chain hotels had been removed. This gave the room a much cleaner, modern, and appealing vibe. Lots of space for office work with plenty of plug ins. From my 26th floor room, the view was great. Bed is comfy. I do wish that the hotel would provide a plain kettle for boiling water. I am a tea drinker not coffee, and boiling water in those little ‘coffee makers’ is very awkward, not to speak of the lingering coffee aftertaste. There was a fridge but no microwave. No safe. Unfortunately the restaurant which I only tried once was TRULY mediocre. For wine lovers, don’t bother—they only had 1-2 selections of horrible wine. Go with beer — much safer. My main issue is that the location of the hotel has become quite troubling, with many First Nations individuals in the area, many clearly suffering from substance abuse. Often they were congregated around the doors, and there seemed to be very little in the way of security. As a solo female traveller, I felt unsafe. Even during the day, there were two fights that broke out nearby during my four day stay. Very sad and unfortunate but I would not elect to stay here again until this situation improves.
GGuest UserThe staff was so friendly and willing to help us out with a great rate! The room was spacious, clean and well kept. The hot tub was not in order unfortunately. Not ideal after cycling for 8 hours but we made do. The breakfast selection was good. There was a good variety but the apple juice and coffee tasted very watered down
