The restaurant is highly recommended. Highly priced, creative and very tasteful. The rooms are very tastefully decorated in keeping with the name (crown) and concept (romance) of the hotel, but not with the charm of days gone by, but modern. This is particularly evident in the bathrooms and hygiene facilities of the hotel. The whole hotel is as clean as we have not seen it in a long time. The staff are very friendly and focused on the well-being of the guest. Here you can see that a job can also be a vocation. **** superior, after all"

"A comfortable room booked and paid and finally received the budget room. No answer by email that I want to pay the difference. No coffee/tea facilities in the room, no refrigerator. In fact, more a B&B than the hotel. Breakfast is good. The swimming pool is cold and limited open. Sauna you have to book and pay extra. The use of bath jackets also pay extra. People are nice but often there is no one who can ask you something, this feeling not hospitality for me."

"Our stay at the hotel Astenturm did not meet our expectations. Two days before arrival we received a message that check-in at the Dorint Hotel in Winterberg was made. Hotel is about 4 km from the Astenturm. At the arrival at the Astenturm there was no staff member who was powerful in the German language. On the question of the park card it was just called it to stop. The way to the room was described only with rooms there. Room was not cleaned every day so there were no fresh towels. Furthermore, the ties of the predecessor were still in the bathroom waste shop. Reclamation at the reception was not understood due to lack of German knowledge. I called it colleagues. Today's departure day there was no breakfast as it's rest day. Therefore, we saved the lacking breakfast. On the other days, breakfast was a conception. 2 years ago we were enthusiastic with hotel and breakfast. The choice of the so-called breakfast buffet corresponded to a 1 star hotel. For the missed breakfast we ask for a refund of €18"

"Beautiful location, near ski slopes and lift, but in quiet surrounding outside Winterberg. Very friendly owners, rooms are very clean with good beds, great buffets for breakfast and for dinner. Swimmingpool and sauna, nice bar with a fire. We had a great time."

"Dear Sir/Madam, We made a booking via *********** at this hotel for the period from February 14 to February 18, 2026, for my daughter's 7th birthday. However, unfortunately, due to an accident, I suffered a severe herniated disc in my back, which forced me to cancel this reservation. Through the BOOKING app, I can cancel this 'entire booking' for free. But unfortunately, they are only refunding me 10% of the total amount. This is despite the fact that I was more than 28 days before arrival, and even though it was clearly stated that cancellation was free. We contacted ***********, and they did nothing. We contacted Der Schöne Asten, and they showed no understanding whatsoever. This is a serious breach of misleading information and communication!! To anyone I can recommend, do not book at this hotel. They are first-class scammers."

"Authentic bierstube, food is tasteful and large portions. Service was very friendly. Nice selection of beers on tap and prices are very reasonable. We had a schnitzel topped with berries and cheese and a vegetarian dish, fried avocado with vegetables. The quinoa bowl. As a starter we had a salad and a mixed bruschetta."

"We had a very nice stay with Martin and Mirjam. All fine peak, from breakfast to dinner and the rooms. I love the small, you have also more contact with the other guests. And nothing is too much. When the taxi company left us in the mouth and we threatened to miss our train on the return journey, Martin brought us to the next station."
