"Visiting family in Heswall so decided to stay here. Location was perfect and plenty of shops and takeaways nearby. Travelodge Wirral Eastham ★★★
"Please avoid staying at this disgusting place, they are taking bookings and charging scandalous prices for what I can only describe as hell. They are operating as a hotel whilst also providing accommodation for homeless people and other people seeking a place to stay and live. I stayed here for 3 nights with my 7 year old daughter as I was taking care of her whilst her mium was away with work and I don’t live locally, unfortunately I am guilty of not reading the reviews prior to making the booking and I so wish I had. I knew the moment I walked in that this wasn’t operating as a typical hotel with the standards you would expect as their was a really bad smell of body odour in the reception area, I was given a room on the ground floor right at the end of this dingy corridor, when we entered the room it felt like the place had been left in the dark ages and a feeling of ‘what have I done” came over me. I realised immediately that the heating in the room wasn’t working, so I went to tell the guy at the reception, at which point the door handle fell off in my hand. I thought that this was terrible but the nightmare had only just begun. The reception guy moved us to room 6 which was directly behind the reception. I tried to make best of a bad situation cause I don’t want my daughter to get upset. We were trying to settle down but their was loud banging directly above our room, it became apparent that their was a family from Liverpool who was causing the disruption as they were also up and down to the reception causing a nuisance l, we eventually managed to settle down and get some sleep, but at 2am I was suddenly woken to shouting and banging rite outside our door I got out of bed and went to the door and the woman from the room above was being beaten up by her partner in front of her young son, it was absolutely shocking and awful and I was concerned that my daughter would wake up, I was about to call the police but the woman who was on the reception stepped in and the man left the building but was still being verbally abusive. I continued to listen to the conversation and it became apparent that this was a regular occurrence. I struggled to sleep the rest of that night and left in the morning to take my daughter to school. When I returned I complained to the guy in reception that had allocated me my room about the state of the place and the violence I had experienced the night before, I also discussed my concerns that the hotel was getting used as accommodation outside of what a hotel provides and he denied this but then went on to say that the couple who was involved in the violent altercation had been moved out. He ensured me that I would have a better night but I didn’t feel safe I spent the next 2 nights only returning to the hotel when it was time to sleep and stayed behind my locked door. The room was disgusting, the main light didn’t work, the toilet door didn’t lock or close properly, their was damp and mould in the bathroom, it looked more"

Bridge Inn Hotel ★★
"Port Sunlight is a gem of a place loads of historic buildings and then this dive of a pub restaurant and hotel is in it. The food was over cooked and terrible to the point that I skipped breakfast the room was dated but not in a good way like the old buildings around it with characters but in the way that a cheap seaside B&B might be in need of decorating and modernisation. It had a cosy bed. They take your money from your card before you see the room for a reason. Though a strange transaction had been attempted on my card and I had to cancel my card so I then had to pay in cash due to their card machine being down in the hotel part of the inn. It said on the booking no children and yet a child was running around all night and in the morning. If it had been £30 to £40 it would of been worth it as it was it was double that price."
