We usually do a Friday to Monday at Warners but as it was my Birthday on a Wednesday we opted for a Monday to Friday. We arrived around 12.30 and went straight to the leisure centre to book Laser Pistol as we had previously booked Rifles, Archery, and some free spa treatments online. At 1pm we had our usual Afternoon Tea with a bottle of rose prosecco, good selection of sandwiches and cakes, one of the best we have had at a Warner Hotel. We booked a standard room in the main house but on check-in we realised it was in the extension of the main building behind the Fountain Bar, it was good that we did not want any early nights as the late night cabaret started at 11pm until midnight as the sound travelled to our room. The room was very large with a sleigh bed and a big bathroom that had a bath and a walk-in shower. The bath was a Jacuzzi one but it did not work. The room was not particularly clean, as we found a pill from a previous guest on the skirting board, there was cobwebs on the window and the chest of draws that the TV was on was covered in dust. As this hotel has a dinner theatre we were lucky enough to get a good table, 174, that was close to the buffet and also had a great view of the stage. On the first night was ate in the Market Kitchen, The Grove. The food was good and it was hot. We ate in the Cheshire Barn for the next three nights as it is always nice to be waited on. The food was again very good with big portions. We did the wine tasting on Tuesday afternoon, just my wife and I. Max who lead us through the 6 different wines was knowledgeable and kept us entertained for an hour. Well worth the money. As at other Warner Hotels there were lots of quizzes throughout the day and as at our previous stays we did not win! The evening entertainment was wonderful, especially Jayne Middleton as Annie Lennox. Would we return, probably, even though it is a 4 1/2 hour drive.
