Tanyue Hotel (Wuxi Sanyang Plaza)

Hotel was situated in a very quiet part of town by the waters. Laundry service was limited to full service. I prefer self service but did not have enough time to have my clothes washed during my stay unfortunately. My room had a standing shower and a bath tub. Sink area came with complement of toiletries for two in fancy flitter wrappers. The robes were high quality heavy ones, not the cheap flimsy ones you get in most American hotels. The night I arrived the front desk were staffed by courteous but fledgling youngsters who were not familiar with many things of the votel and surrounding restaurants. The older staff who I met the next day were much more knowledgeable. The lady who provided laundry service and did some room management cooked breakfast for us and I was able to enjoy some really good authentic Wuxi style breakfast staples like steamed taro with sugar dip. Lady was very generous and warm and provided breakfast for free. She also gave my daughter a little gift. Outside the hotel in the back was a walking path around the waterways with bridges that joined multiple hotels and businesses. It was very tranquil and pleasant to the eye. My daughter really enjoyed exploring the area. We saw some small fish in the waters and I also found some interesting pink egg clusters on the rocks by the waters. I almost forgot to mention that my room had an additional meeting room with a square table that actually contained a complete mahjong set within. I wanted so badly to play a game with my sisters but unfortunately we did not have enough time to do so. The only issue I can find is the heavy smoke smell in the mahjong room. Previous sojourners had left cigarette burns on the side table with ash tray and surround area of carpet. Of course the hotel has no control over this as cigarette smoking is a huge problem in China. However, maybe use of better air filtration and carpet cleaning machines would improve that. I would certainly return to this hotel next time I return to Wuxi. Great memories!

Service is good, bfast is yummy prepared a noodle soup and dry noodle for us. A small gift from the hotel 👍
