This hotel room, a renovated old building, is a delightful surprise inside. It's antique and charming, complete with a tea set and a study desk, so kids can even do their homework during a weekend getaway. Open the window and you're greeted with white walls and black tiles, terraced fields and rapeseed flowers – a beautiful view indeed. The bathtub even comes with a disposable plastic liner, so you can relax with a bath after a long day of sightseeing, truly clean and thoughtful. Hotel guests get VIP access to the cable car up the mountain, and a small vehicle takes you directly to your room. There's no need to worry about transportation at all. Plus, they offer complimentary oil-paper umbrellas to try out. The service is warm and attentive. Overall, a very satisfying travel and stay experience!

We booked a family suite, split over two levels. We had a dedicated butler providing one-on-one service throughout our stay, and they even helped with our luggage. The hotel arranged a shuttle bus for us as the cable car was undergoing maintenance during our visit. The room facilities weren't top-notch, but they were very clean. Breakfast was at Tianjie Restaurant, and there was a good variety of dishes.

After a nightmare journey filled with flight delays, cancelled train tickets, re-bookings, and car rental chaos, I was completely drained. But as soon as we arrived at the hotel, my mood slowly began to lift. We were supposed to arrive at 5 PM, but due to constant delays, we didn't reach the check-in point at the base of the mountain until after 10 PM. Our transfer driver patiently waited for us and even helped with our luggage, which immediately made me feel much better. Once we settled into our Elegant Suite, my spirits soared! It's a duplex, and although it's listed as 45 sqm, it honestly felt like double that size. The classical, antique-inspired decor was instantly captivating. The location is excellent, the bed is incredibly comfortable, and the breakfast is also very good. All in all, I highly recommend staying here.

The room layout displayed when I booked online didn't match the room I stayed in. My room had a window right next to the bed that opened up to the '曬秋' (sun-drying autumn harvest) display – a bit of a letdown since admiring the '曬秋' is a key reason to visit Huangling. I had discussed this during booking, but they said they couldn't accommodate my request, which I understood given it was Chinese New Year and very busy. My room type was directly above a scenic spot, so opening the window meant seeing crowds of people. However, I did notice other more secluded room types, so I'd recommend confirming with the guesthouse before booking. A unique experience in Huangling is getting the '曬秋 girl' makeup and costume – definitely give it a try! The best time to explore is after most tourists have left in the evening; you can grab the best seats at the popular cafes. For us, that's when we could truly relax and soak it all in. The sugar artisan was amazing, whipping up Chikawa and Labubu figures in no time. Compared to going up, the descent the next morning was a bit chaotic. We waited almost 20 minutes for the shuttle bus, but thankfully we weren't in a rush. A calm mindset is always best when traveling. I'd suggest visiting during the off-season and not over-scheduling your itinerary. These ancient villages are perfect for a slow, leisurely pace. 🎶

Ambiance: I stayed on the second floor, and it was a bit noisy because of the street below. Cleanliness: It was clean. Facilities: Good. Service: Good. Being up in the mountains, it was quiet in the early mornings and evenings. It was very convenient for taking photos, with no queues. The package I bought also included a lantern, which was of excellent quality.

If you want to take photos without queuing, stay a night at Huangling. It's a very relaxed experience. The scenic area is very quiet at night, and you wake up with the birds in the morning. Open the window and you're greeted with a view. You can always come back to rest when you're tired. Huangling has many slopes and stairs, but the hotel offers shuttle service and an exclusive cable car channel for guests, which is all very thoughtful. The only downside is the breakfast isn't great, but it's understandable, given the village's high altitude and being a scenic area, transportation might be inconvenient. If you want to eat, you can do so at the foot of the mountain.

This was by far the best accommodation of our trip! The hotel service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive; they even called me a day in advance to confirm my itinerary. Highly recommend staying overnight in Huangling village. You can truly appreciate its beauty in the evening and early morning when there are fewer crowds. For accommodation, I suggest the 'Shaiqiu Meisu' (Autumn Sunning Homestay). We stayed in a family room with two floors and three beds. It's located in a quiet alley, just a short walk from the 'Shaiqiu' (Autumn Sunning) viewing platform. From our window, we could see the 'Aiguo Wall'. It's a peaceful spot despite being centrally located, very quiet at night. We had a very comfortable stay and I highly recommend it!

I was very pleased with the front desk's arrangement for this room. The balcony offered a direct view of the Patriotic Wall, which is a popular spot for photos when the scenic area lights up. It's located right above the Wutiaoren dessert shop. The environment was clean and spacious. Contrary to what I read online, the old building didn't feel scary at night. The only downside was that it was quite a workout for my legs, as staying within the scenic area, especially with the best views, means going uphill and climbing stairs. Luckily, the concierge helped with my luggage both at check-in and check-out.

Better than expected! I was so surprised to find out it's a standalone old house. It was stunning. As I was leaving, I heard other tourists saying it was accommodation? The front desk mentioned that this room type isn't primarily for its view, but the view was actually excellent. I would definitely recommend it to friends!
