Big4 Wye River Holiday Park

Our kid enjoyed the facilities, and the animals were a wonderful treat. HOWEVER, very disappointed by the lack of integrity for the environment and surrounds. Plastic rubbish strewn throughout the river, river water quality abysmal (blame the ducks if you want to, but do something to improve the water flow and quality). Water not safe for kids to be in, and the flow into the sea made the beach smell funky and rotten. There are signs at the beach to say the river is not safe, but no signs at the Big4, why? Barely any rubbish bins around so no wonder there was rubbish everywhere. No attempt to provide composting facilities or recycling in convenient locations. Huge amounts of glass mixed with food scraps in the kitchen. Cleaners should be utilised during busy weekends throughout the park, not just in bathrooms that also need more regular cleaning (and we all know they could afford this). And then we found out the tap water isn't safe. My kid ended up with a fever and we left early, but I won't be so quick to blame the water, but we couldn't find any water to purchase once we realised it's not safe to drink. There should be signs or text messages. It was a really busy weekend, but all the kids on e-vehicles that don't know how to ride them made it feel a bit unsafe for our toddler. Half of them without helmets. And then some of the families were really getting on the piss - good for them, not great for our camping experience. Maybe we're not Big4 people, but would love to see them valuing and acknowledging the landscape they're making money off.

We were there as a group for the Great Ocean Road Marathon, we did the Glamping option. It is a beautiful park, great facilities, super super clean, the bathrooms were spotless. The staff were so accommodating. Great place, thank you for quickly helping out whenever needed. I accidently left my airpods, they were posted back to me fast.

We stayed for 3 nights on a grassed powered site, only downside to whole trip was we were on dirt with grass sites not being used would have made it better with the rain. The new amenities are fantastic best ever I have seen at a park all big 4 should model their bathrooms on wye river. Kids loved the jumping pillow and pedal carts. We used this as a base camp to explore great ocean road. Would recommended this to anyone thinking of staying here.

the park itself just gorgeous picturesque weather awesome very clean,facilities great BUT!!! a downer whether its time of year and staff havent been trained to cope with people I found them VERY RUDE ABRUPT no smiles (ITS NOT HARD TO SMILE EVEN IF PRETENDING GETS BUSINESS, HANDY HINT MAYBE MANAGEMENT) !!! MAYBE IM FROM OLD SCHOOL BUT WAS TAUGHT TO BE RESPECTFUL SMILE NO MATTER WHAT ITS BUSINESS!! FOUND YOUR MANAGEMENT TEAM ARROGANT AND RUDE WON'T BE BACK!!! DID NOT LIKE ATTITUDE ON MY STROLL TO FELLOW CAMPERS!!! LEARN PLEASE OR YOU WILL GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!! FELLOW CAMPERS REITERATED!!!! LESSON TO BE LEARNT!!! ENJOY 2024 WHILE YOU CAN!!

I had never heard of Wye River but am sure glad I have now! We were caravanning from Perth so have stayed in alot of parks! This one is a stand out! On arrival the ladies on reception were so lovely. It was wet and was going to be for days. We were on a grassy site and were chatting about where we were going to put things ect when we were approached by a worker named Daniel. He was so amazing, asked us if we wanted to move to a slab site they still had available. He had us moved to a site that we think was the best in the park! Then, on talking to him about Koalas he went and found us one! Then there's the Ammenities, they look brand new and oh my what a treat! Plenty of room a shower screen and cleaned twice a day! What a treat!
