Tooyo Hotel (Xi'an Bell Tower and Drum Tower Huimin Street) Reviews

This stay far exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I felt the meticulous service. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient. They even thoughtfully upgraded us to a high-floor room with a view. The room itself was spacious, and the city nightscape outside the floor-to-ceiling windows was stunning. The mattress was just right—not too soft, not too firm—paired with down pillows, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The bathroom had a well-designed wet/dry separation, and the shower had excellent water pressure. High-quality toiletries were also provided on the vanity, showing attention to detail.

The room was clean and tidy, and the service was excellent. Definitely worth trying!

The hotel is conveniently located near Exit B of Beidajie Station. Although the rooms aren't newly renovated, they are well-maintained and don't feel dated. There's plenty of space, and all the necessary amenities are provided. Despite facing the street, the soundproofing is excellent, and there's absolutely no noise. The pillowcases and sheets are spotless white, and the pillows have just the right height and firmness. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Place is very close to the metro station and there are quite a lot of food options nearby. There’s a police station right beside the hotel and a hospital nearby too. However, I think the cleanliness of the hotel can be improved. I got like 10 mosquito bites within my 5 day stay with them despite putting the mosquito repellent plug in the entire day (I get new ones every night after I wake up…), I told the front desk about it but they just provided me with more mosquito repellent but there’s only one plug so kind of useless… also somehow I can always smell smoke from smoking from the bathroom even though the room says no smoking… (the walls are quite thin so I think that’s how the smoke from the neighbouring rooms beside got in)

The location is excellent, very close to the subway station. The lobby is also spacious and bright, and the front desk service is good. However, I'm not sure if it's an air conditioning or ventilation problem, but the room felt very stuffy and had an odor.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations! A friend recommended it, and given the price, I was a little hesitant at first. But it turned out to be really great. It's right next to a subway entrance, so getting around is incredibly convenient. Plus, it's very close to the Bell and Drum Towers and all the snack streets.

Excellent! The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable. The best part is the convenient location; Metro Lines 1 and 2 are right outside the hotel, which is super handy. It's also close to popular attractions like the Bell Tower, City Wall, and Muslim Quarter. The hotel even offers西安 (Xi'an) travel consultation services, making it easy to arrange group tours to further destinations. Most importantly, the price was great! I'd definitely recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Xi'an.

The ladies at the hotel front desk were incredibly welcoming and enthusiastic. As it was my first time in Xi'an, they went out of their way to recommend local attractions and delicious, affordable restaurants. The value for money was truly excellent! The environment was clean, and both the bed and pillows in the room were very soft. They even upgraded my standard room to a larger one for free, which made me decide to extend my stay for another night. The housekeeping staff did a thorough and clean job on my extended stay room. My only minor suggestion would be to improve the lighting in the bathroom, as it was a bit dim. Overall, I definitely have to give them a five-star rating!

The hotel's hygiene was good, the room was spacious, and it was soundproof. However, the paper slip given with the key card stated that check-out was at 2 PM, but it was actually at 12 PM! Very misleading.

If the Trip.com criteria was value for money, this hotel can be considered outstanding. The more so if the fare advertised outside the hotel - which was considerably lower than that given by Trip.com - was used. The room is not fancy, there is no smart toilet and the drapes cannot be drawn by the push of a button, but the room is entirely adequate, it was kept clean, the shower was good, it was quiet, and the location is excellent. The negatives were the weak wifi, the not very welcoming staff, and the smell of smoke in the lobby, elevator, and I twice witnessed a man smoking in the hall. Unfortunately this lax attitude is typical of the hotels we stayed at in China and makes China an international exception in its tolerance of smoking - hard to understand because second-hand smoke is a health hazard to hotel employees as well as guests, smoking in the building poses a fire hazard, and damages carpets, drapes, and the like.

Good hotel

The hotel is clean and comfortable, conveniently located near popular attractions. Being right next to the police station adds a sense of security. It’s also within walking distance to the Muslim quarter, making it easy to find halal food.
