Hotels in Zhonggulou Square (Downtown), Xi＇an

The hotel was in a great location. It’s right beside the Muslim quarter so there’s so much street food. There’s also food chains like McDonald’s and kfc and Starbucks near by. The Great Mosque is only 5 minute walk and so is the drum and bell tower. The room was nice and clean and had the basics. The only negative was the AC was not great. It doesn’t cool the room but this is probably due to central air conditioning being controlled by the hotel which is common with most places in China. The staff were nice even though they had limited English. Overall, I would recommend staying here if you want easy access to the different tourists attractions!

The hotel itself is very good, but the tour service they offer for visiting the terracota warriors is not so good, apart from not being 100% honest when they sell it to you. The guides don’t speak English (even if they say they do) and they can charge you some extra fees for the bus usage. The hotel was clean, very nice and the location is quite good, the price was very cheap for this.

I think this hotel is the most convenient choice of all hotels in Xi'An. It's right in front of the Bell Towers, and walking distance to so many tourist spots, even situated right in front of metro exit. It's easy to call a cab here. The breakfast didn't have much choice, but if you're in a mood for other types of food, you can just go outside and find so many nearby restaurants. I enjoyed my stay in this hotel so much despite the hotel is old and that the window doesn't have view of the bell tower.

Holiday Inn Express Xi'An Bell Towers is located near amenties like 24/7 convenience stores. It is a short walking distance to various street food stalls n souvenir shops. Lots of delicious food are found here.👍 Their reception staff are very professional, friendly and helpful. Upon arrival, they offered us beverages to quench our thirst due to our long train ride from another province. Due to our late departing flight schedule, they were to accomodate to our request for late check-out.👍 Their breakfast is nice and delicious, catering to both Chinese and Western style. We were even given complimentary home-made beverages, something which we did not anticipate and this gesture delighted us. 👍 Their family room is ideal for our family of 4 adults, spacious space and good disposable toiletries. Staff cleaning the hotel rooms were polite, friendly and did a thorough job. Room was cleaned everday, at different timings, as they accomodate to our timing for sight seeing.👍 We would like to thank all staff from Holiday Inn Express Bell Tower Xi An for making our leisure trip a wonderful and memorable one. 😘 Thank you ❤️

I never spent more than 1min to write a review but this time I will write a very long one. A good one. From my 10 years travelling in China, this is the first time I gave a hotel Full marks! And it is not just from me, even my children gave the hotel full marks! We are very satisfied with our stay in the hotel because the Service offered by the staff (especially the ladies at the Reception) is the best we ever have. You can have the most luxurious fittings, but if there is no good service staff, the hotel simply has no soul. This hotel has the soul - I congratulate Mercure for having such excellent staff in this hotel. We checked in at around 3.30pm on 9 November and from there, we can already feel the service offered by a group of ladies (led by 琴姐 OR琪姐 - forgot her name). The room was not ready and during the 30mins wait, the Receptionists offered us drinks and pastries to keep us occupied. And given that the weather is cold, they offered us warm water instead of normal room temperature water. One lady was also helpful to offer us breakfast at a discount. The room was very well kept, TV is very huge size (probably 85”) and every day housekeeping is tip top. Everywhere we move around in the hotel, we were greeted by the staff. When we have issues and seek help from the staff, you can feel that they are genuinely helping to find a solution and thinking from your situation (rather than just give a mechanical answer and brush you off). The best part is even the Housekeeping aunties will ask you to wear more clothing to keep warm because the weather turns cold (it was Xian first snow). So thoughtful! Even the laundry room has bottled water and TV program you can watch while waiting for your laundry to dry. Throughout the stay, we felt like we are at home! It is also centrally located with many eateries and shops nearby. The MRT exit B is just 20m away from the hotel. Macdonald is right beside. The only shortcoming is the toilet - there is no separation curtain or door between the shower area and toilet. As a result, water from the shower head will splash onto the toilet and the floor become very wet. This can be very dangerous for old people or children. The hotel may want to look into this. Overall, this is best hotel we had stayed in and the hotel that makes us feel like home in our 12 days trip across China. Well done to the team at Mercure XiAn Bell Tower! First thing when arriving we were told we get a free upgrade -larger room and view of the city wall (which was AMAZING). So that was a good start! Staff was helpful, breakfast was great (Chinese, but even my picky daughter found things she liked) and the location is also very good (subway stop takes you straight to the railway station, lots of malls and the southern city wall right there). We even got a lovely local gift when leaving! All in all I would definitely come back!

The best things about this hotel were: free laundry and great service. We traveled a lot and this was the only hotel we can wash our clothes and got fresh ones. In fact the staff 严巧玪 and 谢蓉蓉were so helpful that they collected and laundry and folded them and delivered to my hotel room. The shower water was great also. The room was very cleaned and always in order after we return. We loved the breakfast and tea time in the afternoon. The location is awesome very convenient. We highly recommend this one.

Positives: Good breakfast rooms were spacious and clean, Gym facilities were basic but clean. Negatives: Temperature in the room could not be adjusted and was too hot, nobody in the hotel could speak English including at reception so communication was difficult.

Let me explain in advance that I have not taken any benefit from the merchant, I am simply sharing a treasure store. Arrange the work at hand on Saturday and arrive in the ancient capital Xi'an in the evening. On this rest day, northwest people want to have a good day. Choose to live in the ancient city, close to Muslim Street, about ten minutes' walk. This B&B is called Han Tang Yi. In the middle of Nanchang Lane, next to a big sycamore tree. Without paying attention to the price, I randomly booked a room for more than 300 yuan just because it was close. But it gave me too many surprises Surprise 1: Daily coffee and night wine, you can order a cup of coffee for breakfast and a glass of wine in the evening. A and C taste pretty good. Surprise 2: 201 is still very quiet, I slept until dawn. You also need to ring the doorbell to enter the door. Surprise three: all details are exquisite. The toiletries are pretty good, the toothbrush has a wide head and soft bristles, the comb has an air cushion, and the disposable slippers are also velvet... Surprise 4: You can practice speaking on the first floor at night. Friends from France, Hong Kong, and India chat about the customs and habits of various places... Surprise 5: The guy and the girl at the front desk are very, very nice. Therefore, I sincerely recommend all friends who come to Xi'an to give Hantang Inn a try.

A lovely stay at this hotel. Clean, very central location, very special being rushed outside the bell tower. Friendly hotel staff. Basic Chinese breakfast but much around to eat if you prefer to venture out. Recommended.
