Shangri-La Xiamen

Although the hotel is a bit older, it's very well-maintained and renovated. The room was spotless, clearly showing the excellent work of the housekeeping staff. The service personnel were all very friendly and pleasant. During check-in, we were assisted by a slim young woman with glasses. She was incredibly gentle and patient. We later saw her again at the executive lounge during dinner, and she was just as professional and warm, making you feel completely at ease. I apologize for not remembering her name, but her nametag seemed to indicate her position was Assistant Lobby Manager. One particularly clever design feature in the room was a curved indentation below the bathroom mirror. It was perfect for placing small items without getting them wet. Most hotels just provide a tray on the vanity, which often gets splashed. Also, there was a velvet jewelry tray in front of the dressing table mirror, which was very thoughtful for organizing toiletries. These touches were incredibly user-friendly. The package inclusions were all very practical, and we made use of everything. The sailing experience is a must-do! The time slot we booked happened to be just for us, so we essentially had a private boat! 😁 The evening light bites at the executive lounge, while not extensive in variety, were certainly enough to satisfy. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with this trip; choosing this hotel was definitely the right decision.

A pre-school holiday with the kids, we had a blast! The hotel's facilities are excellent, they even have a kids' playground and crabbing activities, which were just fantastic 👍 We easily caught hermit crabs – it was our first time crabbing and we caught some cute little ones! ☺️ Highly recommend.

The hotel is located by the sea with expansive views. The staff were all very friendly and contacted us a day in advance to confirm our room requirements, which they met. They also provided excellent recommendations for activities. Room service was prompt, and the cleaning staff were very diligent. Overall, we were very satisfied.

Our stay at Shangri-La Xiamen was fantastic. Yunia sent practical hotel tips in advance, and Irene helped us book activities at the hotel, which were a lot of fun. The hotel environment was comfortable and pleasant, and all the staff were very attentive. We had a very comfortable stay throughout and would highly recommend it.

This hotel is indeed very convenient for families traveling with children. It has a good range of recreational facilities and activities, and it's very close to the beach, offering a great experience for digging shellfish. The only downsides are its distance from major attractions, requiring taxis to get around, and you have to walk a bit to find food. If you order takeout, you either have to go downstairs to pick it up yourself, or have staff deliver it, which can take a while. I only saw one robot during my stay. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and my kids had a great time.

The hotel's location is good, and the sea view suite we booked offered a nice view, though the ongoing construction of the Haixin Bridge did obstruct it somewhat. Perhaps due to the summer holiday, there were too many people, and the service was just so-so. The bathroom wasn't even properly cleaned upon check-in, which made for a very poor experience. The suite floors don't offer any special services, and the cleanliness on the floor was also mediocre; a cigarette butt sat there for two days without being dealt with. The executive lounge experience was also underwhelming. Overall, it didn't really feel up to Shangri-La's hotel star rating.

Our stay at the Shangri-La Xiamen was excellent overall. Before check-in, Yulia proactively contacted us to coordinate everything in advance. She meticulously shared all the hotel's activity guides, explaining the schedules and important notes very clearly. She even thoughtfully helped us book hotel activities, saving us the trouble of planning ourselves. The hotel's attention to detail was outstanding. Our room was clean and tidy, the bedding was comfortable, and the public areas were well-maintained, creating a quiet and elegant atmosphere. The staff were responsive, and their service was gentle and attentive. From the pre-arrival communication to our time at the hotel, we felt comfortable and relaxed. Both the facilities and the service were top-notch. It was a very satisfying stay, and I highly recommend it.

The lobby and rooms were quite clean, and there were enough staff. However, the surrounding amenities, like shopping malls, were scarce, with mostly office buildings. Also, the Golden Gate Bridge (I think!) was under renovation, which affected deliveries. But the beachcombing and the kids' play area were really great!

Facilities: The hotel has a children's play area where you need to wear socks, and an indoor heated pool with very responsible lifeguards. The hotel also offers a complimentary travel photoshoot, and the service attitude is excellent. My daughter's photos turned out beautifully. Hygiene: All aspects of hygiene were very clean. For a two-night stay, the hotel proactively cleaned the room and changed towels, etc. Environment: The room was decorated very well, and my child was thrilled upon entering. Service: The service was impeccable. There was always someone to help with luggage when getting in and out of the car. The hotel even arranged for complimentary breakfast for me and my three children. When we needed a disposable bathtub liner, we just made a call and the hotel quickly delivered it.
