This was my second time staying here, and I chose the Deluxe Suite. The room was spacious, clean, and felt more like a serviced apartment—with a huge sofa that could easily seat 6–8 people, a proper living area, and a comfy king bed that made it easy to get good rest. The hotel has its own dedicated lobby for drop-off and pick-up, which made arrivals smooth and hassle-free. Staff were friendly and attentive. I was offered free breakfast, and they even helped with laundry by moving my clothes from the washer to the dryer and placing them at the counter for pickup—just let them know in advance. The food was great, with a mix of Western and Chinese options that were both delicious and satisfying. The location is convenient, especially if you're attending events at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, and getting around the area is easy. Overall, a smooth and enjoyable stay. Everything was handled with care. We stayed here with family, and the hotel was excellent. Its location is superb, perfect for both sightseeing and dining. The hotel is situated at the intersection of the old town and the waterfront. Just stepping out for a stroll, you can immediately feel the vibrant local life of Xiamen. A few minutes' walk takes you to the bustling Eight Markets (Bashi) and Zhongshan Road area, where old-established snack shops abound. Peanut soup, satay noodles, ginger duck stew... my family could explore authentic Southern Fujian flavors every day without repetition. If you want to go to Gulangyu Island ferry terminal, Shapowei, or Nanputuo Temple, a taxi ride is usually around the minimum fare, which is incredibly convenient for family travel. We booked a sea-view family room. It was spacious and bright, with a floor-to-ceiling window offering an expansive view of the coastline. In the evening, sitting there, sipping tea, and watching boats return to port, my family all agreed the view was well worth the price of the room. The room facilities were great, the layout was well-designed, and it was clean and tidy. The beds were neither too soft nor too hard, ensuring everyone in the family slept soundly. The soundproofing was also good, guaranteeing a peaceful rest for the whole family. The service at Mercure truly felt attentive. Upon check-in, the front desk proactively asked about the needs of our elderly parents and children, providing kids' slippers and toiletries. Housekeeping was prompt every day. Although the hotel doesn't have large entertainment facilities, the service was warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Every employee greeted us enthusiastically and made us feel genuinely cared for. The young lady at the front desk even told us about snack shops where locals frequently go when she heard we were looking for them. Exploring the surroundings, full of local charm: Beyond the must-visit attractions, the old town where the hotel is located has its own unique character. In the morning, you can visit the local market to experience daily life, and in the evening, stroll under the arcade buildings, picking up some pie or dried longan as souvenirs. This kind of immersive local experience feels much more like true travel than simply staying in a new district. The Mercure Sea View hotel perfectly blends 'convenient location, comfortable accommodation, attentive service, and local atmosphere.' It's especially suitable for families or groups of friends traveling together. It wasn't just a place to sleep; it became our cozy home base in Xiamen. If we come to Xiamen again, we will definitely choose this hotel! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the real Xiamen while enjoying a comfortable stay.
