There is a large bath on the first floor. There is also a Lawson on the first floor, which is convenient. There is a food stall village called ``Hotto Naru Yokocho'' nearby. There are a series of small bars. The building is old and the rooms have a Showa feel. There is a trouser press in the room.

The Yamagata Station covered bridge leads directly to the hotel. It's just that the sign at the entrance is hard to find, all in Japanese. There are many restaurants at the east exit. The check-in desk is on the 24th floor. The view is good. It's worth staying.

The facility is a slightly old building, currently undergoing renovation, but it is possible to stay overnight. It is located in front of the station, so it is very accessible, and there is a bar district nearby so you won't have any trouble finding food, but you can hear people making noise until late at night. Breakfast is a buffet style, including Yamagata's specialty potato stew, and all the dishes were very delicious.

We had a very pleasant stay at Richmond Yamagata. The room is very spacious, clean, enjoyed the massage chair etc. It was comfortable. Service from lobby check in and restaurant are friendly and nice. Breakfast spread is indeed very good. This is first time staying at Richmond hotel and in future will consider staying at Richmond chain hotels. I can’t recall anything bad about the hotel.

This is my regular place to stay when I go on business trips to Yamagata.
The breakfast buffet is good value for money.
The location is a bit of a walk from the station, which is a bit of a downside, but the Yamako Building right next door is surprisingly convenient.
There's a supermarket, Yamazawa, in the basement, and it's also nice to have a Seria in the building. I can buy things I need when I'm on a business trip.
There aren't many izakayas around, so it's not noisy even at night, which is nice.

The hotel is about 600 meters away from Yamagata Station (you have to go through the underground tunnel to get there). It is the only hotel near the station that has a hot spring pool. After checking in, there is a Welcome Bar next to the counter, which offers a wide range of coffee/beverages and alcoholic beverages.
The room is small but has everything you need. There are also accommodation supplies on the first floor, with various types of pillows for you to use. There are also three sets of washing machines/dryers (each costs 100 yen), which is really convenient for long-term travelers!
Although there are not many types of breakfast, the taste is very authentic. It is only served until 9 o'clock. After 8:30, there are fewer people eating, so some dishes (such as bread) are not replenished. It is recommended that guests take a seat early to enjoy.

MMuse YueThe hotel staff uses a translator to communicate, so verbal communication is no problem, and the arrangements are also very detailed. Meal times and free private bath reservation times are clearly listed on the paper. The hotel has a shuttle bus to Zao Ropeway Station, and we went there first. We went to the hotel after visiting Bingshu Plateau. Due to the heavy snow and heavy luggage, the coffee shop staff called the hotel car to pick us up, which was very nice. It is a nationally certified natural hot spring. It has a large bathhouse and a private hot spring (guests can use it once for free). It is a great experience. It is beautiful to soak in the open-air hot spring and watch the falling snow. But the hot spring floor is slippery and my sister slipped and hit her, so be careful when walking.
GGuest UserIt is a hotel with quite a history, although there are ten steps before entering the hotel door, however if you take the shuttle then there should be staff to help you carry (I did not sit), checkout employees to help carry luggage, there Cars you go to the station, but actually walking past the station is not very far, to see the tree ice is not afraid of far, anyway, I walked slowly did not pay attention to the time, watching the snow soon. The hotel staff were very enthusiastic and the service was good and the food was quite good. However the room will be a bit cold recommend going in winter to prepare some warm packs.
MMedtReview Petit Resort Hotel Der Barte
When we think of Japanese hotels, we think of Ryokan, but another type that may not be thought of as often is 'European-style guesthouses'. I happened to be visiting Zao Onsen, so I looked for a place to stay in this area. I think it was during the Chinese New Year, so it turned out that everything was full, so I ended up staying here.
Petit Resort Hotel Der Barte is a European-style guesthouse, not a guest house. It's more like a Ryokan, but in a more European style. The advantage is that it's right next to the Zao Skii Resort ski slopes. The atmosphere is nice, and the staff is nice. We can play ski right away (but if you want to take the cable car up, you have to pay the normal price). It's perfect for those who want to play ski. The disadvantage is that it's on the opposite side of the Zao Ropeway, and there are no Lawson, Family Mart, or 711 stores. So when you enter, it's like you're cut off from the outside. There's nowhere else to go, apart from Zao Skii Resort.
Overall, the accommodation is good, suitable for relaxation, but not very suitable for socializing. The food in the hotel is mostly alcohol and beer, but there aren't many snacks.
ZZhongbushenThe room is large, the breakfast is good, the hot spring is clean, and the welcome area is intimate. The ski drying room is on the left side of the gate. The ski information in the hotel is not full... It may still be mainly for bathing guests.
GGuest UserIt was so beautiful that I was surprised. When I opened the door, I was stunned. Isn't this the Japanese-style snow view room I have been looking forward to? ! ! The space is very large and clean. The bathroom and toilet are separated. The experience is great! I will go again. The hot spring is also great!
TTeoGeraldA wonderful place to stay in. The service was fantastic. The room was huge, much too large for just a solo traveler like me but it would have been perfect if I had brought my wife and child along. The onsen quality was great, albeit the fittings at the shower area were a bit old. The food was hands down amazing and featured great local produce. Honestly there was too much for one person to finish! What I especially liked was that they had a separate room on the first floor where if it was too early for you to check in, you could drop your luggage off, change, and then grab your gear and head to the slopes. Same thing if you intend to charge the slopes a bit more on your last day, just leave your stuff in the storage room, hit the slopes, come back and change out, hit the onsen for the last time, then go off. Definitely recommending this place to my friends visiting Zao.
HHoIn fact, the overall hotel is not bad, the staff is also nice, and if you are a skier, you will definitely like it. The only drawback is that there is no lift. We live on the second floor, so we have to carry our luggage up, which is a bit hard, but the hotel is not bad. Because we don’t have a car, we have to rely on shuttle buses to get in and out, and they are very helpful. The best thing is the hot spring. It’s really beautiful, but it’s so thin!
GGuest UserI spent four great nights at Yamashiroya Ryokan when I was visiting for sight seeing and skiing. The owner was very nice and looked after me very well. She is a great cook as well and the breakfasts were excellent! I would definitely stay again if I was in the area.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is generally good.
However, there is one thing that annoys me a bit. I chose the meal-included package and saw on other platforms that the meal offered was beef kaiseki. But I still chose to book through the Ctrip platform. The day I arrived, I asked the reception what dinner was and I was told it was pork shabu-shabu. I asked if I could change to beef kaiseki for an additional fee and the front desk told me it was not possible. When I entered the restaurant during the meal, I saw that everyone except our table was eating beef kaiseki.
So, is this discrimination or a platform problem?
AAnonymous UserNot bad. It's best to ask them to pick you up because you have to climb a hill and it's very high. The dinner tastes good. The breakfast is average. The hot spring is on the underground floor. If you don't stay, you can go to a meeting room in the basement to change clothes and go skiing. You can also leave your luggage there.
