Stayed in Yamagata for the first time in a long time. The hotel I chose is Yamagata Kokusai Hotel. Net reservation from Jalan. I was able to stay at a price below 5000 yen with a plan with breakfast for one night. (There is a coupon discount) Go by private car. There is a parking lot in the basement and it is convenient. After check-in, go to the room. It feels far from the trend. (Air conditioning is centralized management type, etc.) TV 📺 is small, less 々 sorry. I tried to enjoy online distribution (DAZN, etc.) on my hand-held tablet, but the Wi-Fi environment was not very good and it was interrupted. However, breakfast is wonderful and delicious. There are dishes that make you feel Yamagata such as potato boiled, dashi, grapes 🍇, chrysanthemum, and omelet rice with dadacha beans, and curry 🍛 is also delicious. Yamagata, where major hotel chains are advancing. This is the hotel I want to support. I'll see you again.

Just off the deck in front of Yamagata Station, good access along the big street in front of the station. It is also convenient to the restaurant town in front of the station. Because it is not a big hotel, there is no special feature, but the room is clean and comfortable, there is no luxury, but there is also a free breakfast, and the price was relatively reasonable. The minimum required functions were complete and perfect to stay simple. In addition, since there is no parking lot around, it is difficult to park far away (opposite the main street, parking JA Yamagata, 3 block away). It is recommended for those who don't care about here.

It was a hotel directly connected to Yamagata Station. The weather was good on the day I stayed, the mountain 々 was clear at dusk, and I was able to see a beautiful moon at night. If you walk in front of the station, there are restaurants and supermarkets, so I think it's not troublesome to stay. There was also a convenience store on the 1 floor. I would like to take care of you again when you go to Yamagata.

When taking the bus to Yamagata, remember to walk directly into the JR station and cross the JR station. It is faster. Go out from the west exit of JR Yamagata Station and walk straight for about 3-5 minutes. You will see the hotel. Do not follow the Google route and go around in a big circle. After checking in, hotel 2 In front of the elevator on the first floor, there is a toothbrush set (the bristles are quite soft), face wash, makeup remover, facial mask, bath powder, cotton swabs, razors, pre and post-shaving supplies, etc. You can take them by yourself, between 12 noon and 12 p.m. The restaurant on the floor provides free coffee, juice, etc. for consumption. There are also full bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel available in the bathroom. The room can accommodate 27-inch luggage (one can be inserted into the aisle to open in an L shape) and 29-inch luggage (if fully unfolded, it will block the door to go out). Overall, it is clean and convenient. , close to the station, there is a supermarket next to it, I highly recommend it!

Access to this onsen is a little difficult. While only a 5 minute walk from the bus station, there are steep steps to the entrance. Although the website states that the onsen was founded in 1716 and is very historic, there is little evidence of that history except in the foyer and adjoining lounge area, which are quite pleasant and finished in warm timbers and have an antique feeling. The rest of the onsen is modern, but navigating is a challenge as there are many passages and stairways, all of which were underheated and drafty. Even the dining room where we ate our meals was chilly, with rugs provided for warmth! The food was excellent and the staff friendly and obliging. our room was adequate but nothing special and the baths were good, although the publicity picture of the outdoor bath is very misleading - it shows a view of trees whereas the reality is a close view of unsightly concrete reinforcing of the adjoining hillside. We were somewhat disappointed with our stay here, having expected to experience a more historic character and traditional experience.

It is an old hotel, so you may not want to take a bath in your room, but their public bath is good. This place is on the hill which means you will not want to walk by your own in winter because of the slippery Mountain path. But in other hand it is really convenient because they provide shuttle bus to bus station or cable car station. And there is a ski place just in front of the hotel, you can borrow the equipments from hotel.

A wonderful place to stay in. The service was fantastic. The room was huge, much too large for just a solo traveler like me but it would have been perfect if I had brought my wife and child along. The onsen quality was great, albeit the fittings at the shower area were a bit old. The food was hands down amazing and featured great local produce. Honestly there was too much for one person to finish! What I especially liked was that they had a separate room on the first floor where if it was too early for you to check in, you could drop your luggage off, change, and then grab your gear and head to the slopes. Same thing if you intend to charge the slopes a bit more on your last day, just leave your stuff in the storage room, hit the slopes, come back and change out, hit the onsen for the last time, then go off. Definitely recommending this place to my friends visiting Zao.

Everyone says it's very wonderful, but have you ever stayed there? It's so terrible. First of all, the response of the parking lot clerk (the shorter) is the worst, and there is a feeling of trouble in the face. There is no affection or anything. I was asked to stop it difficult (not a parking lot), but if it's a place, please do it! It was like that. Even if you let me carry my luggage and leave it with a cart, the room is normal. Well, it's a place for skiers, so it's dirty and old. The air conditioner in the room is a type that attaches to the window. I'm worried when it will fall, and now this is ... Sweat It's a type that doesn't open the screen door, but small insects come in. As for the bath, I rented a private bath (open-air bath), but the view is not good and it is narrow anyway! It would have been nice if the large communal bath had vinyl to put wet things in. It will take you to the Zao Kamiyu joint open-air bath by bus. This driver was very friendly. This bath was the best. Regarding meals, there are many types, and there are items written, but I don't know what it is. There is no explanation. It's noisy for the time being. Good morning to the little child! Where are you going today? Was it delicious? I was listening, but when the child was embarrassed, he was surprised to hear that he was saying ”Oh! I was ignored!” in a loud voice. It's unpleasant. Only foreign employees were very kind. Breakfast is as good as a business hotel. It's a little like a maze, and if you make a mistake in the place to go to the venue at night and attach it at a different entrance, it's coldly treated as ”It's not here!” And ”No”, how do you go to the place? When I heard that, a word over there (laughs) What? Over there? Which one? I laughed involuntarily. If it smells troublesome, even if you write it, I took a morning bath in the large communal bath and took a break while waiting for my partner and waited in the lobby, but I didn't say hello even if there was an employee. I was wandering around, but I ignored it at all. The morning greetings written by a famous person in front of me are displayed on the forehead (laughs), but Lucent's pair of stays at Naruko Hotel, which is considerably cheaper than here the day before and the service is thoroughly attentive. The response was really really the worst. I will never go again.

Outstanding
GGuest UserWe arrived at Mt Zao in the middle of Our Epic Six Week Trip To Japan, during which we stayed in nine different hotels. This room was amongst my favourites. The staff largely didn't speak English and were not helpful. We had a stand off at the restaurant as we didn't understand that we couldn't dine at there without having made a booking far in advance. After this was explained, there was no apology or suggestions for alternative dining options. There are limited dining options in Zao. We ate at the Soup Curry place one night and a cute sushi joint another night. On the last night we ended up getting an ebiken bento box from the local L****ns as nothing was open. We did book breakfast each morning and that was fantastic. Lots of Japanese and Western options and it seemed like the food had all been prepared onsite. The hotel is very pretty, with a lovely view of the forest from the lobby. There is a common room with free coffee, tea and ice creams. People were pretty friendly in there. The hotel is the furthest from the 'town' but the closest to the ski lift and to the 'sulfurous' onsen. The ski lift is about 50 metres from the hotel and the ride up and down is spectacular. I thought the onsen was top notch. The sulfurous onsen outside has milky water that is supposed to be good for your complexion. It was fun having an onsen with snow all around. We stayed in the Western style room - it was spacious and well appointed. Our little lounge area had a beautiful view of pine trees and lots of snow. There was also a similar view from the luxurious bath tub (but I didn't use that tub as the onsen was so good.) The beds in our room were very hard. Our room also had a massage chair which I used for hours a time. It was a bit of a trek getting to Mt Zao. The hotel staff weren't very helpful with organising buses but they did drop us off at the bus stop early in the morning and we were picked up on our day of arrival. I know that the staff weren't friendly to us because of the language barrier, which is a shame because everyone should enjoy this venue. I would stay here again for sure. Next time we'll book the dinner set. It did smell amazing ! --
GGuest UserThere was ample parking space and the rooms were clean both inside and out. I was able to relax in the Tabibi no Yu baths and the sauna was at the perfect temperature. The breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety of options. Thank you very much.
FFannysherlockerWe stayed 3 nights at this hotel during a recent trip to Yamagata and absolutely loved it – the best hotel we stayed in on our trip to Japan. The location is great, just a 5-10 min walk to the town center, and right next to the Zao cableway, the cable cars that take you up the mountain. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel seems very modern and well-maintained. Our Japanese style room was large and roomy, very comfortable and inviting. The futon beds were comfortable and we had a great sleep. The bathroom was complete, meaning that we actually had our own shower/bath. The onsens were very nice, outdoor with a couple of pools at slightly different temperatures. The foot onsen was great also. Perhaps the highlight was the amazing buffet breakfast. This was definitely the best breakfast we had in the entire country, with a great selection of fruit, pastries, western dishes (eggs, bacon, sausage) as well as endless Japanese goodies. We looked forward to it every morning! We also liked the free coffee, drinks, popsicles, and chocolate offered in the lobby every day. We found absolutely nothing to complain about and would definitely recommend this hotel to all travelers looking for a great base for Zao Onsen.
Yyk239〈 room 〉 Japanese style room is wide 々 The interior is old but clean and the amenities are substantial 〈 hot spring 〉 The dressing room and the public bath were very clean without garbage and slippery. The hot water temperature is also suitable for temperature The panorama view from the bathtub was also good 〈 meal 〉 Impression that there were many white rice, sushi, noodles and carbohydrates for dinner The amount was sufficient but only the thick seasoning overall. Even the people felt less 々 thick but rich in food and delicious 〈 customer service 〉 polite customer service, the female staff was friendly with a smile to the child Overall, I was able to stay comfortably without dissatisfaction.
GGuest User📍 Location: It is about 5 minutes walk from the station, which is very convenient. 🤵🏻 Service: Free shuttle service from the Tibetan King Hot Spring Bus Terminal to the hotel, but the shift is sparse and an appointment is required three days ago. 🏠 Room: Japanese-style room (one berth and two meals) HKD1931 + hot spring tax 300 Advantages: 🤩 Full floor is paved with tatami floors, so you can wear slippers, you can wear the new socks provided by the hotel or walk barefoot all the hotel, there is a large shared space, free tea, 😍 massage chairs and board games, You can enjoy the sunset at dusk. The room is very large, there is a staircase at the door, equipped with a TV, a mini refrigerator, a dressing table and a separate toilet. In the evening, there will be staff-Japanese-style beds, and the whole is very strong with retro Japanese elements. Disadvantages: There is no elevator, the staff will help take the luggage upstairs, but they will not speak English, and they will not take the initiative to give free to the attached hot springs, which is generally for foreign tourists. In addition, the hotel is too big, the corridor is exactly the same, it is easy to get lost in the middle. Hot springs: Small indoor hot springs ♨️, sometimes the male and female soups will be exchanged, the environment is not similar, and there is an open-air wind for a fee, but we did not go, because it has been soaked enough 😅. ♨️ The hotel also has two sister hotels, namely Tibetan King International Hotel and Tibetan King Four Seasons Hotel, but the time can be limited to before 3 o'clock, so we missed ☹️ when we checked in, it's a pity! There are also three public indoor hot spring houses that can be used for free. We all visit 😝 within one night, all of which are exactly the same layout. It doesn't matter if you don't go 😑!
GGuest UserIt is about a 5-minute walk from Yamagata Station and a convenience store is nearby. Overall it was not a big hotel, but it was a very comfortable stay with a warm feeling. The room is simple, and above all, the key to the room is a PIN. You don't have to leave your room keys, walk with them, and you don't have to worry about losing them. There are not many types of breakfast that can be eaten for free, but there are local ingredients, and tamakonnyaku and potato boiled are provided daily. The day I stayed was tama konjac, and I definitely want to eat Imoni next time. I knew the hotel name for a long time, but this time I stayed for the first time. I stayed and the room was not large, but it was easy to spend and I was able to stay calmly. In the future, I would like to stay at super hotels all over the country, including this hotel.
GGuest UserThe second stop came to the Tibetan King Hot Spring in Yamagata County, and stayed in two hotels. This one has a free open-air style. 📍 Location: Located 15 minutes away from the bus stop, located on the top of the mountain, you can make an appointment for the hotel car to pick up and drop off to Yamagata Station, but we completely forgot, there is no appointment, we push our luggage up the mountain to the physical and mental fatigue 😩! 🤵🏻 Service: I wanted to store my luggage when I checked out, but the staff insisted on picking up the group on the same day. I was afraid that there was no vacancy and I didn't want to 😒. I annoyed for a few minutes and gave up. Although I had a good attitude, ☹️ I felt that I couldn't do small things. 🏠 Room: One night double room with breakfast HKD898.41 + JPY300 ( Hot Spring Tax) Advantages: The room is big enough, using tatami floor ☺️, and has already made a bed, set up a separate bathroom 🚽, no need to share, the decoration is traditional Japanese style and wind design. The hotel has an elevator 🛗, you don't need to carry your luggage upstairs. The hotel lobby is spacious and comfortable, with a small shop selling hand letter, and you can rest and stroll after soaking in the hot spring ♨️. Disadvantages: There is only one elevator 🛗, it takes time to wait, no more. ♨️ Hot spring: 😍 The female soup is big enough, there is an indoor and outdoor soup, the outdoor soup is thinner, and it can only accommodate four people. Fortunately, only me and my family were there, so I could book the venue, and the spring water was milky white, filled with a strong sulfur taste, also known as ”beauty hot spring” 🤩, soaking really felt good skin.
GGuest UserIt was a stay on the tour. The room was wide 々 in a Japanese room, and the futon was already laid, and there was no entrance and exit of Nakai, so I was able to relax. The whole hotel is Showa chick, or the front door is lined up with slippers, or the decoration is everywhere, and it feels like an old good age. The public bath was sulfur, the Karan and the mirror were corroded and a little black, and the open-air bath had no washing place, but the hot water was very good.
GGuest UserI visited with my children on weekdays in June. On that day, we were able to use it very freely because we were the only customers. The impression is that the building is carefully and beautifully used. The restroom was not in the room and was shared, but it was clean and there was no particular stress. (Because there were no other customers) The landlady was kind and talked to the children many times, so it was comfortable even with children. I was able to eat well from the morning, and he told me, ”There are many twin cherries this year 🍒.” I saw twin cherries for the first time, but they were delicious 😋 I arrived at the Shinkansen late at night and was scheduled to leave at 9 o'clock in the morning, so the location was convenient and helpful.
GGuest UserIt is convenient to go to dinner and walk in the middle of downtown Yamagata city. I climbed Zao and tsukiyama in the inn and extended my leg to dewa Sanzan Jinja shrine in Mt. haguro. I enjoyed the day trip hot spring on the way back to the hotel every time I went out. Of course, there was a large bath (about men 5 people, women 3~4 people) on the 1 floor of the hotel, and the congestion situation of the bath was also taught at the front desk, and the bath was enjoyed. It was a pity that the high school student in Tohoku stayed during the hotel stay, and the potato boiling pot of the Japanese food restaurant which was looking forward to dinner was not eaten. The twin room was easy to use and 3 I slept well for a night. It is unavoidable that the procession can be made before the reception at check-in for the correspondence of the corona pass. 1 There is a convenience store on the floor, you can walk to bunshokan, and there are many stalls and restaurants within walking distance. The contract parking lot is also a short walk. It is an inn that I was able to recognize that it can be used unexpectedly from a business hotel to climb.
