Disappointing Experience – Would Not Recommend
I booked this hotel for a two-night stay but ended up leaving after the first night. Unfortunately, I found it not worth the time or the money. Despite the many positive reviews online, I now question their authenticity.
The hotel's prime selling point is its stunning location, offering beautiful views of Mount Fuji. However, that’s where the positives end. Everything else fell far short of expectations.
Here are my main concerns:
Entrance & Hygiene:Upon entering the lobby, guests are required to remove shoes and wear slippers. Regrettably, the slippers provided were visibly well-worn and clearly unhygienic.
Room Conditions:The room had a strong moldy smell, mainly due to mold in the shower area, which was cramped and connected directly to the toilet with a sliding door. The water temperature was uncontrollable, often extremely hot, making it uncomfortable and unsafe.
Onsen Facilities:The onsen was in poor condition, with mold on the ceiling and the water being freezing cold—even in July! The onsen was non-operational, and there were no amenities available. The entire area appeared to be deteriorating, with peeling paint and broken fixtures.
Breakfast Service:The breakfast was disappointing. Only the miso soup was served hot; everything else, including the sausage and omelette, was cold and pre-cooked. I was particularly shocked to see staff cleaning a table—wearing gloves—wiping food off the table , and then quickly preparing to serve the next guest without changing gloves. Carrying the food trays with the same gloves that the staff just used to wipe someone else’s table !
This is a serious hygiene concern.
Overall, this hotel has significant room for improvement.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend it and won’t return.
I regret having such a hard time here during my vacation.
