Yangshuo Autumn Inn (Xingping Ancient Town Branch) Reviews

This guest house left me with mixed feelings. Let's start with the good things. The location is super convenient: right in the old town and yet in a relatively quiet area. It's close to the river so you can take a refreshing night stroll, and close to a delicious bakery/café you'll never forget. The atmosphere of the guest house is rustic and cozy, with a laundry room that, despite its very limited space, serves the purpose. There are also cats and a dog you can freely play with. The bed was comfortable for us (a bit on the harder side). The owners speak English so you can easily communicate with them. They are very kind and helpful. However, a few things about this stay got me extremely disappointed, particularly taking into consideration the positive reviews I had read (which honestly I don't understand where they came from). The room was far from clean. There was a very visible layer of dust. The cushion seats had huge stains and looked dirty overall. The shower room did not get cleaned very regularly, as you can see from the picture. In general everything in the property looked outdated and cheap (wobbly sink taps, doors with huge gaps, that give way to all sorts of bugs and giant spiders..). The fact that the toilet is next to the shower room leaves no room for privacy and makes the toilet floor wet most of the time (this could be solved with a proper shower door instead of a curtain). In conclusion, I was more than happy to leave the property because it did not meet my standards for comfort and hygiene. However, if you don't particularly care about a certain degree of dirt and dust here and there, and are cool with bugs, then you should definitely go for it as you might really like the retro atmosphere of the place.

The ambiance here is wonderful. The owner is a very kind person who cares for many small animals. The rooms are beautifully decorated, truly reflecting their great taste. Being located right in Xingping Ancient Town, it's incredibly convenient for visiting all the attractions. The owner even offered complimentary pour-over coffee, which was truly delicious. The guesthouse has a lot of unique character, and the overall experience was fantastic.

The hotel is located in the Pedestrian street of the city, nearby the bus station, a 10 minutes walk and also near the river wharf at the other end of the street. It’s clean and neat, room has all the facilities I need and window facing a small hill. The lady at reception was helpful and if I come visit Xingping again I don’t mind staying there again

The spacious wooden interior had a charming feel, and the food and drinks available at the front desk were excellent. The accommodation was conveniently located, with easy access to the vibrant streets of the Ancient Town. The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, and her dogs and cats were absolutely adorable. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Facilities: Comprehensive, and the owner even provides their own curated local guide. Cleanliness: Spotless and hygienic. Ambiance: The window views are beautiful, and the surroundings are serene, ensuring a truly relaxing stay. Service: The check-in welcome note was a wonderful touch! When it started raining before we could even check in, the owner thoughtfully offered us a hairdryer and a small towel. Incredibly considerate!

This is such a lovely little hotel nestled right on the old street. The room was very cute and great value. It was a bit hot at night but the air con solved the issue. I loved the little bath which I enjoyed every night and the cafe at the front which is run by the landlady. I loved enjoying a fresh coffee and people watch in the morning. I would definitely stay here again. It was very clean and well kept. Thank you for having me!

There's a coffee shop right downstairs, and they have adorable kittens along with a charming 12-year-old dog. Highly recommended!

I had an excellent experience. Very helpful host, (who also speaks English). Please note that breakfast is not available there, but you can get one next door.

I enjoyed my stay here very much and think the room was even nicer than visible in the pictures. There's a lot of nice details that give this place some personality and make it feel more like a home. The room was very clean, spacious and with a very nice design. The views of the green hills are also fantastic. The service mentality of the team is outstanding and the staff was very kind and helpful. It's very conveniently located if you want to stay in the center of this small town. The pricing is also very fair given the wonderful amenities. In this price range it is one of the best places I have stayed at in China. I can definitely recommend staying here.

Absolutely lovely room in the centre of Xingping ancient town. The woman at the front desk was so lovely and could speak English. Would highly recommend for anyone staying in Xingping!
