We had a great time at Secret Garden. We loved the historic building as well as the surroundings. The cook at the home stay is excellent, we decided to eat at the property every evening. We decided to prolong our stay as we enjoyed the location very much

The hotel is absolutely beautiful. It's located in an old Qing dynasty village, with buildings renovated with a lot of love for detail. The friendliness of the staff is truly unmatched. They assisted us with questions, served us delicious food and were always up for a friendly chat. A hotel in a marvelous, romantic location that I can wholeheartedly recommend to everyone. And extremely good value for money. We loved it!

At first, I was scared of all the good reviews and thought that maybe it was a scam, but it was not!! The hotel is beautiful and honestly extremely clean for the environment that it's in. Compared to some hotels in the main city, this one had no insects at all in the room. We got a family room for 3 people, and the room's size was more than enough with 2 different "eras" for the double bed and the single bed. For breakfast, you have the choice between a traditional Chinese breakfast (such as rice noodles) and a western breakfast (eggs, salad,...). Both of them were really good. And if you have an allergy or can't eat a certain food, you can just ask them to adapt to you, and they will! You can also eat in the hotel's restaurant for dinner, the food is just as good. The location was perfect. I knew that it was kinda far away from the city, but that's exactly why I chose it. From only being 25min away from the main city, you can have the prettiest view ever. It's also not even 10min away from the bamboo rafting, so it's perfect either way. And if you're worried about the taxi, you can just call a DiDi and it'll usually be here in less than 10min, so you don't have to worry about that. And finally the staff. They almost all speak English, so communicating with them was really easy. They are also really nice and are ready to help you whenever you need something. So, in a few words, I highly recommend this hotel. You won't be deceived.

The room was freezing cold; only the area directly under the AC was warm, while drafts came from who knows where else.

Far from the city center. Honestly would recommend just staying at a proper hotel in the city for the same price.

The location of the Secret Garden is a bit far but the surrending is just wonderful. We spend the whole morning exploring the countryside where we get to see a geese pond, whole field of rapeseed flowers which is in full bloom. We would have done the bamboo rafting there if we had not already booked ours near the 十里画廊. Now, Secret Garden is really a hidden gem. Beautifully renovated but retained the rustic vibe of the farm houses. Staff there are cheerful and helpful. They can converse in English too. Really love the place.

Beautiful hotel in an amazing location. Easy car ride into Yangshuo but far enough away that you get some peace and quiet. You want to go to this hotel if you want less of the “busy tourist city” vibe that Yangshuo gives you. Evening walks through the village and quiet sunset drinks were a highlight. The hotel rooms are lovely, a unique atmosphere with lots of reading spots and nice bedrooms. We thought the restaurant was lovely and ate there both nights after busy days of being tourists. The staff are one of the best bits of this hotel, all super warm, friendly and accomodating - thank you!

Very rarely in China do you come across such a special place created with so much care and attention to detail. In the heart of where we wanted to be. We stayed four nights. Thoroughly recommended.

I loved this location away from Yangshou town. The rice fields were beautiful and the old village architecture. You can rent bikes or ebikes if you don't have your own transport and there are plenty of lovely walks through the rice fields. On a rainy day or if its too hot to be outdoors exploring there isn't too much to do though.
