A last minute booking from us... That turned out to be an absolute treat. We had a beautiful room, gorgeous powerful shower and slept really well. We also had breakfast twice and stayed for dinner one evening, all being wonderful. My girlfriend is fabulous in the kitchen and she was very impressed as was I. Go for it! Treat yourself. Five Stars from us ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had a great stay! The George is a small comfortable historic( King Charles II used to stay here) boutique hotel with a fantastic location right on the beach and great views directly across the solent in the middle of the pretty village of Yarmouth. Its restaurant serves excellent food and the wood panelled bar, with its open fire, has a robust wine & cocktails list. Some great fine wines. Our room overlooking the garden and sea was warm & simple, providing a really comfortable nights stay. The staff without exception were professional, friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. I should mention the slow cooked shoulder of Lamb for two was excellent and frankly staying here feels like being part of a private house party! Easy to get to as-well - the Lymington - Yarmouth ferry is only 50m away so easy to come as a foot passenger if preferred although we took a car to explore a little. Even managed to take a picture of a Spitfire flying over the nearby Needles bathed in the Autumn sunshine! Thankyou Team George for a lovely stay - albeit too short - we will be back!

We were initially made to feel welcome but that soon changed when we said we only wanted drinks, we were only allowed to sit in certain places outside as the other tables were reserved for diners .. there were none & plenty of tables. We ordered 3 coffees & a pint of coke despite there being lots of staff (more staff than customers) service was very slow. Other customers started to join us but were also dictated to as to where they could sit. We eventually paid the bill & left, however we realised later that we had been charged £7 for a pint of coke! That’s a complete joke .. you can buy a 2l bottle for less than £2… I would not recommend this hotel not only for the rip off prices but also for the lack of service & the feeling we weren’t welcome.. sorry (not sorry) we don’t own a yacht!

We popped in here for a coffee and we were shown into the garden by one of the staff. We checked that it was OK just to have a drink and was told its fine. We were given a choice of 2 very high tables, one shaded one sunny, we asked if we could sit at a lower table (we're women of a certain age and the stools were pretty high) we was told no, they're reserved for diners. Albeit they were all empty. In hindsight, we should have left. We ordered 3 coffees and 1 coke that took a while to arrive despite many staff standing around. We asked for the bill afterwards and couldn't believe a pint of coke is £7, even though half the glass was ice. In summary, not very hospitable, and ridiculous prices Needless to say we won't be rushing back!!

We did stay at the hotel but just stopped off for some food & drinks, in the outside area on a Sunday evening and it was all very lovely. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and we had some unbelievably tasty nibbles. Also a great selection of drinks. Very happy to recommend and can't wait to go back for a full meal

Popped in for a drink on a lovely sunny day the host was very friendly when we entered the garden she said just find a table sunny or shade wherever , found a nice table overlooking the sea , we sat there and sat there, staff were milling around it nobody came to us , after about 10 mins we thought maybe you ordered at he outside bar yourself so my husband went to the bar , the gentleman said you don’t come to the bar someone will come to you , he said explained we’d been there a while and no one had , a waitress appeared next to him and said I don’t think you can sit there anyway I think the tables reserved, there was nothing on the table at all to show it was reserved absolutely nothing , she then came to the table and said you can’t sit here you’ll have to move , we asked why she sullenly said it’s reserved ,we said it doesn’t say reserved ,she said well it it , we said we will leave then there are plenty of place to go and she just pulled a face , the staff really need some customer service skills and it wasn’t even that busy

It was a hot and busy bank holiday Saturday but we booked in advance for lunch (recommended) we were walking the coastal path and so arrived earlier than we expected but were still seated promptly at a table with a lovely view. We chose to have several of the smaller plates between us. Staff were prompt polite and attentive. Food was excellent - especially the tomato salad and the cheeses. Second round of drinks took slightly longer than expected to arrive but we could see they were busy.

We walked past this establishment two years ago in the rain and agreed that next time we were on the island we would visit. So, on a warm and dry day recently we were fortunate to have a free day to visit. Sadly, we were late from a meeting in Newport and so couldn’t really get to know the hotel. However, our stay was near perfect. Out of season and largely fully of locals. I enjoyed the beef bourguignon and my first wife said the crème brûlée was one of the best she had had I can’t but recommend The George to all. Also “P” we ordered the glasses thank you you are a star.
