Location: Relatively close to Jiaoxi Bus Station. It's a bit far from the train station and the main street. We stayed in a Japanese-style quad room, but the space was smaller than expected. The private hot spring tub on the terrace was quite large (can fit two adults) and very clean. We had a mountain view room, and since the opposite side faces apartments, the mountain view was a significant advantage. There's also complimentary tea and tofu pudding service. For the outdoor hot spring area, you need to bring a swimsuit and a swimming cap to enter. The breakfast service didn't have a huge variety, but it was clean and decent.

I was unexpectedly upgraded to the largest room type in the hotel, which was incredibly spacious. The semi-open-air balcony hot tub was astonishingly big, and it filled up very quickly. The location is great, just a 3-minute walk to Jiaoxi Onsen Forest and about 10 minutes to Tangweigou, offering a peaceful stay despite being close to the hustle and bustle. What I was most satisfied with was the breakfast. You could eat until 1:30 PM, and the variety of dishes far exceeded typical breakfast standards. The freshly blanched beef soup was tender and delicious, the Sanxing scallion pancake was good, and the chicken rice was authentic. I was very pleased.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone vacationing in Yilan. The breakfast is amazing, served from 7:00 AM all the way until 1:00 PM! The hotel truly puts a lot of effort into its offerings; the food is not only delicious but also quite unique. Since checking in yesterday afternoon, we haven't wanted to leave the hotel at all. They have delicious teppanyaki, a hot spring swimming pool perfect for splashing around, and waterslides. In the afternoon, they even offer complimentary douhua (sweet tofu pudding). It's truly perfect for the entire family!

While not located in a bustling city center, its tranquil setting away from the crowds and close to nature offers a truly unique resort experience. I'd suggest putting your phone away and only using it to snap photos, capturing memories of the beautiful tranquility and excellent service. You don't need to travel overseas to truly unwind; a hot spring getaway in Jiaoxi is just as effective.

## Room: The room was very spacious, and the water pressure was excellent. I appreciated the separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom. The bed was a bit on the soft side for my preference. In summer, the outdoor hot spring area had quite a few insects. ## Overall Experience: The hotel staff were very friendly. Breakfast was decent, and it was a huge plus that we could still eat it after checking out. However, items weren't always replenished promptly, which might have been because we arrived a bit late. The beef soup, though, was absolutely delicious! In the evening, they offered *douhua* (tofu pudding) in the lobby, but it wasn't particularly tasty.

Our stay was incredibly relaxing and comfortable. The room itself was very spacious, and we particularly enjoyed the huge bathtub, which was big enough for our family of three to comfortably soak in together. The smart devices in the room were a big hit with our kids; they found them very novel and loved them!

This trip was a much-needed getaway from the kids, courtesy of my husband! Even though it was just a one-night stay, the room, bed, facilities, meals, and staff service were all excellent. A huge bonus was the availability of EV charging stations! This allowed my car to be fully charged for the drive home – super convenient!

Jiaoxi Fong Hua Hotel offers a tranquil setting, and the staff were incredibly friendly and courteous, making us feel right at home. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the hot spring facilities are excellent, perfect for a relaxing soak and unwinding. It's truly the perfect choice for a relaxing getaway. The breakfast spread was extensive and varied, and the location is very convenient, with plenty of great eateries to explore nearby. Overall, my stay was extremely satisfying and definitely worth a return visit.

It was incredibly relaxing to soak in the private hot spring bath in our room every night. The in-room amenities were excellent: the mini-fridge was well-stocked with small beers, plum wine, sodas, and even Pocari Sweat. Thoughtful touches like a massage comb and hair clips were also provided. Plus, complimentary tofu pudding was served in the evenings! Breakfast was fantastic, offering my favorite beef soup, and we could choose our seating time as late as 12:30 PM. Overall, this hotel is incredibly considerate and attentive to detail. I would definitely choose to stay here again.

Although the hotel isn't right in the city center and is a bit of a distance from the train station, it's wonderfully quiet. The hotel itself is new and clean, and the rooms feature smart controls for lighting, curtains, and more. While the swimming pool isn't large, the water is spotlessly clean, and it's evident that daily maintenance is well-handled. The staff members were all very friendly and helpful; we even received a text message reminder the day before check-in. The complimentary afternoon tea snacks and the 7 PM tofu pudding service in the evening were both very thoughtful touches. The breakfast selection and quality were excellent, truly delicious, and the coffee was good too. All beverages in the mini-fridge were complimentary, and the small cookies were tasty 😋. The room size was just right, the bed was comfortable, and having a hot spring bath on the balcony with good ventilation and an open view made for a truly comfortable stay.

This is my very first negative review. I usually only leave five-star reviews to compliment hotels that exceed expectations. As a frequent traveller who has stayed in various accomodation types, I am writing this solely because of the customer service we experienced. We arrived at the hotel before 11am and were informed that check-in was “最迟是三点”, meaning latest by 3pm. We left and returned around 2pm and were told that our room was not ready, so we waited in the lobby with our young children. We did not ask for early check-in or pressure the staff in any way and were prepared to wait. During this time, several guests who arrived after us were checked into their rooms. While we understand they may have had different room types, it did not make the long wait any easier, especially as we were the only family waiting in an otherwise quiet lobby. At 2:56pm, we were informed that our room was ready. We then politely asked if it would be possible to have a late checkout at 12pm the next day. The immediate response was no, with the explanation that late checkout is only given to guests who check in after 3pm, and that it was not yet 3pm. This response was extremely frustrating. One would expect reasonable customer service to at least: 1）acknowledge the long wait, 2）explain the policy politely, 3）recognise that being checked in just four minutes before 3pm is cutting it very close to an “on-time” check-in. When we asked whether some flexibility could be considered, the staff discussed among themselves and told us that they had already done us a favour by giving us someone else’s room to shorten our wait. It was later acknowledged that this “someone else’s room” was exactly the same room type that we had booked. This explanation only increased our frustration. The staff had checked us into a room of our exact booked type merely four minutes before the 3pm deadline, yet framed this as a special favour. They then used this 'favour' to deny our polite request for a late checkout, which made us feel penalized for simply expecting reasonable service. As a guest, it makes no difference to me whether the room number is 801, 802, or 803. I do not understand why this was considered a favour, or why it was even relevant to the discussion. In the end, late checkout was offered, but the attitude felt reluctant rather than professional, as if it was granted simply to end the conversation. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience. A hotel can have nice rooms, but it will never be enjoyable if the customer service is poor. For balance, the room itself was quite nice, although the shower took a long time to warm up. The public hot spring area is quite small, and we ended up not using it.

The room was fully equipped with smart features, and although some of the devices were a bit clunky, it still made for a fantastic experience. The sound system was great, and the room itself was large and comfortable! The communal activity area even had a waterslide! While it was on the smaller side, even I, a 'big kid' at 168cm, had a blast on it. The ground-floor terrace pool was huge and wonderful, offering plenty of Instagrammable seating. There was even a separate smaller pool area! It's absolutely perfect for a family getaway with children, and the soundproofing is excellent, so you never have to worry about disturbing anyone. The in-room hot spring was superb! The tub was so spacious it felt like it could easily accommodate five people. The only minor downside was the bed, which was quite firm. However, for those who prefer a firm mattress, it's a major plus and a refreshing change from hotels that only feature soft beds.
