Michi Hotel - Luodong

Cheap, and very close to Luodong Night Market and Luodong Forestry Culture Park. Eating is also very convenient, and the room is clean.

The location is great, just a 7-8 minute walk to Luodong Night Market. There's a partner parking lot, PX Mart, Xiao Bei, and a military welfare center all within a 5-minute walk. The environment is clean, amenities are complete, there's a mini-fridge, and soundproofing is good. However, the 26 square meter room felt much smaller than the 25 square meter rooms I usually book on Ctrip. There were also very few surfaces to put things on. Breakfast is from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM, with rotating dishes daily, which was pretty good. But they didn't replenish items once they ran out. So, if you go for breakfast after 8:00 AM, the two stir-fried vegetable dishes will already be gone.

It was okay. The hallway insulation isn't great, so I was woken up by noise in the morning. Breakfast hours are really short; the restaurant auntie said it's only until 9 AM. The breakfast itself is quite simple, mostly Chinese-style congee with a limited selection of bread.

The hotel's location is super convenient. On the evening of June 6th, we excitedly parked our car and headed to the hotel, hoping to rest a bit before heading out to the night market for food. As soon as we entered the room, we were hit by a strong, lingering musty smell. There was a dead cockroach on the floor, and a live one scurrying around by the fridge. The bottled water, tea bags, and paper cups under the TV were all covered in dust. I called reception for help, but was told they could only use an ozone machine to deodorize, and since the hotel was fully booked, there were no other rooms available. We had to stay in the room with cockroaches running around because the receptionist said the live one had run off... Honestly, the hotel's frontline staff work very hard, but the management behind them didn't come out to apologize or deal with the situation, leaving the staff to make excuses. I will probably never stay at a hotel that disregards hygiene this much again!

The sofa and table were pretty good; it was nice to sit in front of the TV and eat a late-night snack comfortably. However, the TV only had some channels and no Netflix or YouTube, which was quite boring. The room was a bit different from the photos – no view, and the bathroom was a bit small but acceptable. The walls were a bit old. For a one-night stay, it was tolerable, just barely.

The room was simply refurbished and the soundproofing was decent. Breakfast wasn't great; one day I had bread that seemed to be from a night market, along with some cold vegetables. The second day was just cold vegetables and pan-fried buns. I really wish the food was hot. Also, the shower curtain couldn't completely block the view from outside, and since the glass faced the street, showering felt quite stressful 😓
