It was just before Obon, so there weren't any crowds and I was able to relax in the hot springs. My skin felt so smooth. It was cool and comfortable.

The hotel is located at the end of the hot spring resort, in a higher position, you can see the stream, the open-air hot spring is in the cabin next to the hotel, you can enjoy the scenery while soaking, it is very comfortable.

The exterior cannot be described as clean, to put it mildly... The rooms are old, but they are well-cleaned and are nicer than the famous chain H, which is a nice touch. Above all, the lobby, which is hard to imagine given the old exterior, added to the excitement of the trip. As for the hot spring, it is truly Hoju no Yu, 100% natural spring water, which is impeccable! The water is lukewarm, but you can take your time in it, so it is piping hot when you get out. The spring quality is so good that it leaves your skin incredibly smooth, so much so that you forget to shave afterwards. The owner is an avid soccer fan and a supporter of Montedio Yamagata, which is probably why there is a projector in the lobby! It looks like fun to cheer on the team on a big screen with all the supporters.However, I did have a few complaints.Even if it's done with customer service in mind, water in a cooler pot isn't going to get cold if you just put it in the fridge (^^;;Even though there is a water cooler, I can't find where it is, and it's not on the hotel map...They showed me how to use the open-air bath, but there was no explanation about the lamp that is needed at night (which is placed at the front desk), nor was there any explanation that there was no shampoo in the open-air bath.They asked me what time breakfast was, but didn't explain where it was (-｡-;The lobby is so beautiful and exciting, so I think it would be even more enjoyable if they served customers with more energy and confidence, highlighting their good points (when I saw the public radio broadcast at the festival, they seemed like a different person (lol)).
