"We stayed at the Hotel De La Poste on our way down to the South of France. We stayed just one night which was a shame because this is a really stunning place. The room was so lovely, really spacious bathroom, spotlessly clean and with crisp white bed linen. The reception staff were faultless, as was the talented bar tender who mixed my husband 2 amazing cocktails - a Negroni and a Jungle Bird which he says he has now been converted too! The breakfast was simple, high quality and in a beautiful room, however I believe you can sit outside if preferred. The whole ambience was one of calm, peaceful class. Just perfect, thank you."

"The hotel location is far away from downtown Sens, and there is hardly any public transportation. The rooms are decent, the breakfast is chargeable and not worth the money. Only saving grace is it is located in area with multiple restaurants from french to asian and other fast food chains, and located conveniently in an area with multiple shopping options. Although this is the best you can manage in the small town"

"The Epona Hotel is relatively new. It’s been open for about a year old and is located right in the heart of historic Sens. From a location standpoint, it is excellent. Step outside and you are immediately surrounded by the city’s main attractions, including the cathedral, museums, city hall, shops, the covered market hall, and a wide range of restaurants and cafés. For sightseeing, it is hard to beat. The hotel itself is attractive and well-designed. The decor feels modern and polished, and the building still has the advantage of being new. The hard product is clearly above average and more refined than what you would typically find at a Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, or Marriott. That said, despite marketing itself as a 4-star hotel, the overall experience does not fully live up to that classification, particularly given the room rates. The service experience is where expectations begin to fall short. There is no pre-arrival email, no welcome letter at check-in, and no sense of a personalized arrival. A single clerk staffs the front desk. No concierge. No doorman and no bellman to assist with luggage. There are also no luggage carts. This is more like an upscale 3-star hotel than an actual 4-star hotel. For a nearly brand-new hotel, some of the practical details are also surprising. The elevator is relatively small and not particularly well-suited to guests arriving or departing with luggage, which can be inconvenient during busy periods. Guest rooms are comfortable and well-appointed, but they lack many amenities travelers expect at an upscale 4-star hotel. There is no printed hotel directory, no robe, and no slippers. Basic glassware is absent—no wine glasses or tumblers. There is no corkscrew or properly stocked minibar. The desk has no USB outlets. There are no electrical outlets on either side of the bed, which makes charging devices awkward. International travelers may also be disappointed to find that there are no English-language television channels available, not even BBC or CNN. The bathroom setup continues this minimalist approach. There is no lotion, no conditioner, no dental kit, and no mouthwash. Instead, guests are provided with a hand-wash dispenser at the sink and two wall-mounted dispensers in the shower for body wash and shampoo. Providing shampoo without conditioner is cheap. The on-site bar and restaurant are a highlight. The space is attractive, the bar program is solid, and drink prices are competitive. Food quality is good, but prices are generally 5 to 10 euros higher than at comparable restaurants nearby. At breakfast, the buffet selection falls short of the acceptable 4-star standard. There is zero service. The coffee is awful machine coffee. The scrambled eggs were gone by 7:20 a.m., and they were not replaced. There is no option to order eggs cooked to order or an omelet. There are also no incentives for hotel guests to dine or drink on property, such as a small discount or credit. A minor discount or credit "

"The hotel next to the highway is like a rest stop. Check-in is self-service after 9 PM. You need to contact staff at the self-service machine to get your room number and password. There are supermarkets, gas stations, car washes, etc. nearby, making it a convenient place to rest."

"The location is excellent, right by the river. The attractions are just a short walk across the bridge. Auxerre's urban environment exceeded my expectations; it's very beautiful and scenic. The hotel offers free parking, and the breakfast is good. There's a very good Chinese buffet restaurant about 100 meters away."
