Visited for a relatively local evening away; easy to drive to and a great location. Room itself was lovely, with good furnishing and most amenities (you'll have to ask for an iron); the mini-fridge on the floor ruins the aesthetic a little and also creates quite a bit of noise on and off through the night. Overall very clean too with what seems to be a pretty new bathroom. The restaurant atmosphere was lovely, and the staff are helpful and pleasant. The food is nice, but somewhat overpriced; 2x mains, 2x desserts and a pint of bitter coming in £100+. The complimentary amuse-bouche was actually the best part of the meal (10/10 for creativity and execution!). The terrace is one of the best parts of the hotel, overlooking a duck pond surrounded by lots of plants and flowers - great spot for a quiet coffee or beer. The earliest breakfast time is 8,30, which meant we weren't able to get anything as we needed to leave c.7.30/8. When we arrived we asked if there was anything we could get earlier (maybe some fruit/pastries), however the response was a straight no and "maybe come down for about 20 past". Fair enough if impossible to work and appreciate the dining breakfast is part of the stay, but it might be a good idea to offer some light breakfast ideas for those who have to leave earlier (have stayed many places where this is an option)
