Novotel York Centre

Amazing city hotel in the heart of York. We had a great time as family and the boys really enjoyed the swimming

Such an awful experience when we arrived at the hotel the receptionist lacked a lot of information in relation to our questions but in the end we found that everything was how it was meant to be. They have NO cot mattresses, I ordered a cot bed and it came without a mattress, this is for all mums please be careful as this is a safety risk for infants and babies as it can affect their spine significantly, therefore my son slept with me on the bed. A major concern is hygiene, breakfast was served with plates not washed to standards and food was served as leftovers from the previous day or two. The food was very dry and the peaches smelt off I had to alert a member of staff about that to let them know they rapidly got them changed as soon as possible. There was a fly in the cheese container and the cheese had a sickening taste to it too. I will NEVER come here again very awful taste. One final issue is that they have no phones in the rooms in an emergency they would like you to add their number on WhatsApp and communicate via message what a silly system this is. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS AS IT’S A WASTE OF MONEY‼️⛔️

Highly ok stay, nothing major to offer. Basic rooms, room service was fairly standard - asked for change of towels and cleaning of dustbins that took sometime. Heard a lot of people complain on sink overflow and what not. Offering 2000 accor points was the standard response, we did not get it though.

Swimming pool is nice but it is a small size, it needs to book in advance. Location is great, about 10 mins walk to centre.

Well positioned , clean hotel. Great staff, great breakfast, big rooms. Lovely riverside location, walkable to the centre along the river. The pool  is smallish , sauna big and good, no steam room .The.pool has to be booked at reception for 30 min period.

It was a very pleasant stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They are also quite accommodating. The location is superb as it is just a 12 mins walk to thr city center. The pool and sauna made the sray more fun. The only critique would be the breakfast as breakfast options are limited and the same everyday. There were not enough pastries or hot food options. But it is definitely not bad. It is just a tiny feedback that would make the whole experience a 10/10.
