York Aparthotel

The Duvet and the pillows are the warmest and fluffiest I have ever felt. And I love the good quality furnitures and the full kitchen is very good quality as well , convenient to cooking , let me feeling at home. Particularly the bathroom is very big and bright !

I recently stayed at this aparthotel and unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations. Upon arrival, the cleanliness of the apartment was subpar, with dusty surfaces, a mouldy fridge, and dirty utensils. Despite the property owner offering a refund for the accommodation, I was disappointed that they refused to refund the parking fee, which I had already paid. Furthermore, the communication with the property owner via email was unprofessional and unpleasant. It's disheartening when such issues arise during a trip, especially when you're looking forward to a relaxing stay. I understand that unforeseen circumstances can occur, but it's important for the property owner to address and resolve these issues promptly and professionally. I hope they take this feedback constructively and make improvements for future guests. Overall, my experience at this aparthotel was disappointing due to the cleanliness issues, unresolved parking fee, and unprofessional communication. I would advise other travelers to consider these factors before making a booking decision.

Firstly the owner says it’s a 90% chance for parking when only 4 spaces for 8 apartments? I messaged on the morning of arrival asking if there would be plenty of parking when arriving at 1pm, and he replied ‘probably’ which I thought a bit rude but never mind. Arrived and no parking so paid an extortionate £26 for 24 hrs, recommended by the owner. We got in after the maids left at 2pm and headed straight out. When we got back we immediately heard the singing and shouting from the pub, the beer garden was directly under the bedroom velux window, then we opened the door to the bathroom upstairs about half a metre from the bed and the stench was terrible. We advised the owner who said we can swap rooms the next day, but we we’re only staying 1 more night and had unpacked. So he said the maid will give us some bleach when they come. We managed to get parked for the 2nd night and the owner didn’t charge because of the issues. At 6.45 am each morning we were woken by the pub delivery and the barrels for a good 45 minutes. Going to the toilet during the night was horrendous, as once the door opened the stench was terrible. We went out for the day & returned about 3, the maids were in other apartments hadn’t come into ours so my husband spoke to them as the were leaving. The maid advised us it’s the drains and it’s been a problem for some time. She sprinkled zoflora and gave us some bleach, she gasped when she opened the door to the bathroom as the smell was that bad. I don’t know how they can sell the property as a holiday let. Reading reviews on other sites I don’t know how the reviews can give this a 5 star rating with my experience. It seems 1 bad review then 2 excellent reviews follow? Anyway we won’t be returning.

Very disappointed with our stay. Wanted somewhere close to the centre but not that close that it was loud so opted for york aparthotel. That was a mistake, the apartments are right next door to a very loud pub which is what it is but you could hear it loud as anything inside with all the doors and windows shut. Apartments are dark and smelt like foist and sewerage mixed together. Marks all over the walls, massive crack in the ceiling, paint coming off, old furniture, tv signal was rubbish and an awful smell of sewerage. Informed the person who looks after the flats who's response was rude and basically said 'cancel and find somewhere else' didn't seem to believe what I was saying about the decor until I sent pictures. Even then he tried to make excuses saying the apartments had recently been decorated and sent me texts from his decorator?? I mean why? I was there and it had absolutely not been recently decorated. Offered us free parking which we accepted but still not good enough, he said he'd get someone in to sort when we'd gone but what good is that to us? Incredibly disappointed with the apartment and the way the issues we raised were dealt with. Definitely won't be going back. Ever.

Another fantastic stay at York Aparthotel, fantastic location, immaculate apartment. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else now. The bed is so comfy and the place itself it really modern; free parking too which is a great addition

Arrive outside the apartment around 1130 as no details given as to gain access, on the off chance we tried to see if we could get into the apartment to drop off our luggage then meet our friends and family. We eventually got through to the guy who must own the place and he bluntly replied to our text message of what time we get the code. After 1330 was the reply. So we headed back into York with our luggage until 1350 and tried again. He sent us the code to gain entry and on trying this the code didn’t work. Our neighbours also tried and he was certain we had the right code. So he suggests to call the maintenance man out who lived over an hour away. By this time we had been sickened as this would have meant us dragging our luggage back into York and trying to gain entry for a third time. You can imagine how mad we were by this point and told him we were just going to get the train back home as the weekend was ruined. He said he would not take payment, but guess what? He did take payment. He offered a 50 per cent discount on the next stay. I couldn’t risk that again. Now we are in the midst of trying to get our money back for no nights stop over.

As a couple we stayed the one night on the 11th February 2023. Lovely apartment. Coded access, modern, warm, clean, comfortable bed, great shower. We stayed in apartment 8.6. We got lucky and found a parking space as they are limited. £10 a night. Most hotels within the city walls of York don’t have parking space. Lots of car parks available locally. We bumped into the cleaner and she was very helpful. lovely lady, thank you.

Really enjoyed our stay here, the apartment is very easy to find and there is parking on site which is free. Apartment is very modern and had everything we needed, including shower gel etc and even a toothbrush and toothpaste individually packed. Bed was really comfy and the apartment was spacious. Definitely recommend

I had booked this for a couple of days away for my partners birthday. Arrived to check in at 2pm (check in time) and owner ignored call/text to check in. Didn't get access to property until 14:30. We gained access by approaching one of the apartments where someone was inside cleaning who happened to be the owner which turned out to be still inside the apartment we were due to be staying in. Waited for text message for code to enter into door to gain access so couldn't leave the property until this had been received which took over an hour and a half from check in time. Banister appears to of been ripped off the wall and railing left on the living area floor. really poor repair work done (see photos). Stain on bedroom carpet in front of mirror. Toilet was dirty and the toilet seat was broken. Television was caked in dust. Electrical wires hanging off the top of the kitchen cupboards. Damp patch on ceiling below shower above. Grubby marks on the walls throughout the apartment. Poor filler work in bedroom. Heater was really noisy and could not have on in the evening due to the constant clicking noise it made. Also looked like it needed a clean. Tried to complain about all of this to be offered a 20% refund and 50% off my next stay. I can definitely say I will not be returning to the York Aparthotel again so the offer of a reduced next visit is useless. I am still yet to receive any form of refund from the York Aparthotel. Right in city centre nice shower.
