Exceeded expectations. First time trying a pub hotel and we were blown away. The room was huge (our photos don’t do it justice) amazing tea and coffee facilities within the room. Large bathroom and good location. Even had a large outdoor area which would be nice to enjoy a drink in the summer. Perfect spot after a day of walking the waterfalls. The staff are so friendly and make you feel very welcome. Breakfast was great you helped yourself to continental and then could order a breakfast of your choosing.

Excellent inn with an equally excellent pub attached! Stayed here as part of a road trip holiday with a friend and we both wished we could have stayed another night after an excellent meal with my favourite pint (theakstons best). Definitely one we will need to return to. Highly recommended. Breakfast included was an added bonus and it was a perfect way to start a day on the waterfall trail- kept us going! Many thanks to all for a pleasant experience.

Lovely 3 night stay here. Can’t fault it, staff were friendly, room was plenty big enough and spotlessly clean. The food was really good especially for the price point. Delicious and plenty of it. We ate here every night. Breakfast service was excellent and very swift. I would definitely recommend this place as a base for exploring the area. The waterfalls trail is a five minute walk away and well worth the visit. We also visited Ribblehead Viaduct and walked up Whernside , as well as Horton in Ribblesdale. Brilliant stay and we will definitely be back

We booked a family room at the Wheatsheaf last Friday as we planned to do the waterfall trail and wanted to make an early start of it on the Saturday. We were happy with our room & enjoyed a nice meal in the dinning area, up to this point all of the staff were lovely & helpful. When we were initially showed to our room we were advised that a band would be playing later that night but it was far from our room and if the noise got too much to let them know and they would turn the volume down. This was the first time that we had been notified that a band was due to play, I had booked the room directly from the Wheatsheaf website which also included notifying them that a child would be staying with us, there was no indication that any performances were taking place, I received several emails from the Wheatsheaf between the time of our booking & arrival at no point was it communicated to us that a band would be playing. The Wheatsheaf has previously stated that it was posted on social media in regards to the band playing, however we did not know that it is prerequisite to check all social media before making a booking, we have never had to do this with any other bookings, we are not from the area so do not follow the Wheatsheaf on any social media platforms. The music started at 8pm and was a rock band, the volume was very loud and a major issue was the vibrations that could be felt through our room, our main concern was for our 3 year old who was very tired after a day at the Yorkshire Show, unsurprisingly it was very difficult to get him settled. As advised by the staff member who showed us our room we reported this to the manager who was very hostile & unsympathetic, he stated that it is a pub & therefore this noise is to be expected. What the manger seems unable to comprehend is there is a huge difference between normal pub noise & a rock band performance, we have stayed at other pubs & are very much aware of the noise level & have no issue with the normal level of noise that is expected at pub. This is evident from the fact that once the band had finished playing we were able to relax & have a comfortable nights sleep. Furthermore we have no issue with bands playing at the Wheatsheaf, what we have taken issue with is the fact that the Wheatsheaf did not give us prior warning that a rock band would be playing so that we could make an informed decision as to if this is the right place to for us to stay & the hostile unsympathetic response that we received from the manager, it made for a very unwelcome stay to the point where we did not feel comfortable having our included breakfast the following morning & sourced it elsewhere, from a lovely friendly local cafe. I have no expectation of a resolution following this review as the manager cannot seem to grasp that we are not criticizing a working pub or the fact that a band was playing but we are critical of the lack of communication & the inhospitable attitude directed to us when we were just concerne

Arrived at short notice following a quick phone call, the Wheatsheaf could not have been more accommodating. We were a family of 7 just completed the Waterfalls trail and looking for a place to eat. We had the most easy friendly welcome at the bar by I think her name was Helena? and shown to our table. The waitress was friendly and efficient and our delicious food soon delivered to our table. A lovely dining experience in a great atmosphere. Will go again.

We have a friend who has just moved into the lively village of Ingleton and we stayed at the Wheasheaf for 3 nights. Lovely room, staff all very friendly and we ended up eating there all three nights and there were no issues. Looking forward to coming back later in the year.
