We went for an evening meal whilst on holiday. We had been recommended the Steak and Ale pie. It did not disappoint. We were greeted at the door by a regular customer who told us we had chosen the best pub in the area. He was one friendly face of many in the pub, we felt very welcome, including our 10 year old granddaughter. The meal was plentiful (more than I could eat at one sitting), well presented and delicious. I would definitely go back if I was in the area

Absolutely love this pub so thought we would give the new chef a try! He didn't disappoint. Brilliant meal, everything cooked to perfection. Wood pigeon was lovely, pie was a challenge but polished off by Woody & his pork loin was a winner. Everything was seasoned really well, looking forward to more of the same!

We have just returned from spending a weekend near Youlgreave and called into the Bulls Head on Saturday to have our evening meal and watch the cup semi-final at the same time. We would like to thank all the staff and owner for making us feel so welcome and also for the wonderful meal {homemade pie} which was so tasty. We had already booked our Sunday lunch and again we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely return when we are in the area again. Thank you all again for making our visit so enjoyable. PS City are still on for the treble. Brian and Janet.

Very friendly staff, excellent food and a lovely atmosphere. Even though the pub was really busy the service and standard of food was very good. We have eaten out in the area on many occasions and this is one of the best meals we have had, the portions are huge but there’s no compromise on quality.

Ate here a couple of times whilst staying in village on holiday with family. Small but varied menu , from homemade pies to amazing curries and lots in between. Very friendly staff, very welcoming to us and our dog.
