Location is pretty close to most iconic place in Yufuin. Walking distance to the lake KinRin and Floral Village. The service was great. The room was pretty big for 2 people but the outdoor bathroom wasn’t ideal. Too cold to take a shower outdoor. They have 2 private onsens, 1 indoor and 1 outdoor. Both has (in use) and (usable) signs to see if it’s available. No time booking in advance. So you won’t know exactly when you will get a chance to use it. The dinner was ok for beef eater but not for non beef eater. No other meat choices to choose.

Amazing stays, staff was very friendly and polite, he explained everything to us well and clear. And they provide free shuttle from Yufuin station. There’s popcorn making after 8pm at the lobby, it was a fun experience. Breakfast and dinner was very delicious. Had a very pleasant and happy stay here.

I stumbled upon this hotel by chance, and the experience was even better than what I read in reviews. Although none of the staff spoke foreign languages, they were all very enthusiastic and helpful. They offer fresh milk in the morning, which was a lovely touch. The onsen is private, with only three tubs, so you have to reserve a spot to use them. Otherwise, you can just use the bath in your room. In the evening, there's a fun popcorn-making activity, perfect for after dinner. I highly recommend this cozy little inn.

Hoteiya is situated close to Lake Kinrin. Onsen was great, however, the public onsens required waiting by chance as there was no sign up system. One thing bothered me was the aircon system which was quite loud at night.

Staying at this hot spring hotel during cherry blossom season created wonderful memories for my family and me. The hotel provides a convenient shuttle service—just a quick call from the station, and within 10 minutes, a car arrives to take guests directly to the hotel. The staff were exceptionally polite and attentive. Upon noticing that my father was using a cane, they kindly arranged a room for us without stairs, ensuring a more comfortable stay. The accommodation was spacious, featuring a private onsen and a massage chair, which made the experience even more relaxing. Since the hotel is near the mountains, there were a few insects, but it wasn’t a major issue. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and in the morning, guests could get fresh milk with breakfast. The hotel’s location was ideal—just a short distance from the shopping street and Lake Kinrin, making it easy to explore the area. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and we truly enjoyed the experience.

It was spacious but the onset is not clean enough.

Love Yufuin Onsen area and we got a big room w/outdoor Onsen tub. Food was good n we each had private room in dining area. Like the 1hr privatising of the public pool. Shuttle to take us back n forth

The hotel boasts a prime location near Lake Kinrin, situated at the end of the Yunotsubo street, perfect for a quick stroll and rest. The service is attentive and makes guests feel right at home. A private shuttle to Yufuin Station is provided on check-out day, allowing guests to enjoy sightseeing on their last day. The hotel features three family-style baths, two of which are open-air baths, each offering 40 minutes of private time. We stayed in the Takasago Japanese-style Suite, which boasts both indoor and outdoor private onsen, ensuring excellent privacy. Breakfast and dinner are served in private dining rooms, offering a diverse menu with different signature dishes each meal, such as Wagyu beef and houga-don. Overall, the hotel exudes a nostalgic Japanese charm and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended! 👍

This time, two couples stayed at the Yufuin Hotel together. My friend gave it a 98 out of 100. They said it would be even better if the futons (traditional Japanese bed-shaped beds) had futons like those in sushi rooms, because getting in and out of the futons on the floor was really difficult for the elderly. However, they thought the staff service was top-notch, the breakfast and dinner were delicious, and the complimentary seating was a thoughtful touch!

The service is very good and the station provides free rides. And the location is close to the city center, which can be reached in 5 minutes on foot. The room design is also very beautiful, adopting traditional Japanese design. Sincerely recommend

The disadvantage is the cleanliness of the tatami and sofa, which has obvious room for improvement. The upside is that the room is big. There is a clean, spacious and comfortable private hot spring space, and the spring water has no odor. In the morning, there is a bottled milk supply area outside the room, and guests can pick it up if needed. The dinner place and food presentation were beautiful. There is a driver who will take you to the train station for free, which is very convenient and saves a lot of effort.
