The room was big, clean and hygienic. I arrived that evening, but I regretted not being able to go to the top floor to experience the hot springs and view the scenery. I booked a banquet set in the hotel, which tasted good.

As part of a tour organized by Club Med Découvertes, I spent one night (March 31, 2023) in this ryokan. I occupied room 242. The establishment seems at the end of the world. The hotel itself has no particular charm, it is a modern building located in a narrow valley. The reception is ordinary. It seems that there are not many people at reception and generally one wonders where the staff is. It is therefore impossible to get information or help. Signage is non-existent or very confusing and it is easy to get lost in a maze of corridors. Once you arrive, we give you some advice: dress up in a kimono. The one in my room is a child's kimono! So a good point for being ridiculous. The room in question, although it is large (a large room with coffee tables, where a tatami and a futon will be deployed for the night, another small room, a separate toilet, a bathroom) is totally uncomfortable. It's low in the ceiling and as I'm tall I bumped into it a lot of times, or you have to walk bent over. Impossible to open the windows or take advantage of a mini terrace. The equipment is minimal: safe, empty minibar, no wifi everywhere, air conditioner that must be unplugged to have an electrical outlet near where you have to sleep, no bedside lamp, nothing to hang your things on. , insufficient pillows, no large bath towel, ... The comfort is really very basic. The bathroom includes a sink, a shower whose shower head cannot be hung at eye level, a sort of tray for enjoying the thermal waters. There is only one small towel, which is very insufficient. The only positive point is that it's quiet. The dinner was very average, although I must admit that efforts had been made to satisfy us with a menu containing I don't know how many dishes. The breakfast is Japanese, so not suited to my tastes. There is no bar. I didn't try the onsen, not being at all ready to walk around naked in front of strangers. In summary, and as far as I am concerned (I understand very well that one could have a different opinion), this night is more folklore than hotel business. And I think the quality/price ratio is catastrophic, when you see the price of the night on online reservation sites. At this price you can find a 4 or 5* hotel without any problem. I will never try a similar experience when I return to Japan.

It was a terrible inn that was not worth the price. There was nothing wrong with the facilities, but I was surprised at the low level of the staff. The inn is a style where you enter through the entrance on the first floor and check in on the second floor, but as soon as we went up from the first floor to the second floor, the staff on the second floor told us that the place was full and to go down to the first floor and wait. At this point, I thought this inn was no good. We stayed with six people, and at first glance there was a table that could seat six people (right in front of us), and there was no one else standing and waiting. Four of the six people were elderly, and one was walking with a cane and dragging his feet, but instead of encouraging us to sit down, they told us to go down to the first floor and wait. . We had just been guided to the second floor and had come up. I was stunned. This inn has no hospitality at all, even though it is a Japanese inn. And the staff serving the food in the private rooms are the worst. First of all, they threw out the wet towels. That is rude, it's unacceptable. The food was served rudely, and I have never met a waiter who clattered dishes so loudly. It stinks of cigarettes, has no class, and that kind of customer service lowers the quality of the food. There are many other things, but I can't write them all here, so I won't. This is a judgment based on experience and comparison with other hotels, but this is not a good place to stay for this price. It left a bad impression on me, and I will never stay at this hotel again.

I booked a plan that upgraded my room in exchange for late check-in and early check-out (although that was the only room available...). The room was spacious, and I could see greenery from the window, and the quiet, calm atmosphere made me feel relaxed. The overall atmosphere was not new, but on the contrary, the old-fashioned feel was refreshing and nice. The actual room was better than the photos on the web lol. The dining room was also a private room, which was nice. There was nothing around, so I think it was suitable for a quiet and relaxing time. The temperature is different for everyone, but personally, I think the bath water was very hot, so I would have liked it to be a little warmer so I could have spent more time in it. I was able to stay in the open-air bath for longer. Also, the size indication for the yukata? jinbei? was difficult to understand. I think it would be more helpful for elderly people if they could immediately tell me M or L. Other than that, it was good overall.

I checked in around 2:30pm, which was right when it was busy, and there was no one at the entrance (´；ω；｀) I knew the way so I went to the second floor, but it seems like first-timers would be confused. It would have been nice if they had said something like, "We'll show you around in order." There was also no response after I picked up the phone regarding some issues with the large communal bath, and there was some kind of commotion on the other end complaining about the situation (￣▽￣;)If they do answer the phone, they should focus on the customer on the phone first. It felt like the quality had gone down overall this time, and as it is such a nice inn, I sincerely hope that it will improve. The food was lovely and delicious as always.
