Taohuawu Lijiang Snow Mountain Secret Realm Luxury Resort Hotel

A truly delightful and surprising experience! Nestled in an idyllic paradise beside Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, this hotel boasts pastures, waterfalls, lakes, vast grasslands, and the stunning Thirteen Peaks of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. I highly recommend it for anyone hoping to witness the 'Golden Summit' sunrise – it's incredibly therapeutic. The butlers are wonderfully attentive and always ready to guide you through activities. The activities themselves are fantastic: horseback riding, tie-dying, and mushroom foraging hikes. And the breakfast? Absolutely delicious and incredibly generous. To top it all off, the hotel even gave us a complimentary room upgrade, which was a lovely unexpected bonus. This stay far exceeded my expectations, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

A truly beautiful place with incredibly enthusiastic staff. We thoroughly enjoyed almost all the activities: archery, boating, and mushroom foraging were all great fun. We picked a lot of matsutake mushrooms, which were then prepared and tasted delicious. The afternoon tea and breakfast were also very rich. The cafe for afternoon tea is located higher up the mountain with fantastic views, and the coffee was excellent too. Overall, a wonderful experience!

This hotel is nestled in a pasture at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, featuring a large lake and beautiful natural scenery. There are many fun activities available, along with adorable cats and dogs. We arrived in the evening, so unfortunately, we missed the mushroom foraging. However, the bonfire party and butter tea experience in the evening were fantastic! My friend and I also tried tie-dyeing and making pinecone crafts the next morning. The hotel staff were all incredibly kind and enthusiastic, feeling more like friends than employees. I highly recommend staying here for two days, dedicating a full day just to enjoy the hotel's activities. Plus, the breakfast is very generous, and the yak meat is incredibly tender and delicious – I loved it!

I brought my parents here, and even now, the three of us are still reminiscing. It felt like we were in the Swiss mountains, with every scene of the fields and pastures looking like a painting. This is true 'wild luxury' and a perfect escape. Just sitting in the wilderness and zoning out was incredibly healing. Oh, and the toiletries were a full set of Acqua di Parma's Colonia range, which I absolutely loved. No need to worry about the villas being far apart; they offer shuttle service that gets you to your room in three minutes, and they respond incredibly quickly. The ranch has many retired million-dollar racehorses running freely without saddles. They'd walk right up to you, and seeing them graze outside the window felt sacred and awe-inspiring. The restaurant food was superb; we had their Dai-style stir-fried chicken four times, and it was absolutely divine! The butlers were all very genuine and fun; with 14 butlers looking after just you, I felt like a kid again. We stayed in Lijiang for six days, at Banyan Tree, Taohuawu, and Qianshanji, but this 'wild luxury' hotel was by far the most memorable and stunning. It's true that experiencing such an amazing hotel too early raises your expectations, as everything from the environment to the service here is top-notch. It even made our subsequent stay at Lugu Lake feel less impressive. Next time, I'm definitely staying for a whole week; two days was just too short!

The rooms were clean, bright, quiet, and comfortable, and the hygiene was excellent. Our overall stay exceeded expectations. What our kids loved most were the two dogs, Duo Le and Duo Duo, at the guesthouse. They were gentle, friendly, and not at all shy. As soon as we put down our luggage, the two little ones came wagging their tails, which made the kids incredibly happy. They even followed us when we went mushroom picking. The butler service was also very thoughtful; we hardly needed to leave the room. Anything we wanted, the butler would bring to us. A pleasant surprise was that we had brought our own fruit, thinking it would be inconvenient to buy in the mountains, but we found out that the guesthouse offers a wide variety of fruits for free! The chef's dishes were also delicious; our kids repeatedly asked for several of them. I even asked for the recipes to try making them at home. All in all, this is definitely a hidden gem of a guesthouse, highly recommended with five stars.

Perfect for kids! There are dogs, cats, and horses, and the children can run around freely. There are also plenty of activities like skipping stones, mushroom picking, and boating. As soon as we left, my child asked when we could come back!

Seriously, you haven't truly experienced Lijiang if you haven't visited Taohuawu. I feel incredibly lucky to have chosen Taohuawu among countless B&Bs. It was absolutely worth the hour-long drive from the city! This was easily the most unforgettable part of my entire Yunnan trip. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Every single staff member was delightful and incredibly thoughtful, and the service was impeccable throughout. Even the hotel amenities showed a great attention to detail! Our original room didn't have the best view, but the butler thoughtfully moved us to a different one. I was so touched, I practically wanted to live there forever! I tried several activities, and even though I wasn't great at them personally, it was still a wonderful experience. Plus, the chef's cooking is incredibly delicious – it tasted like traditional wood-fired meals! In the evening, it drizzled a bit, and the blue hour was absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, we missed the bonfire party, which was replaced by a fireside drink session. I even got to try Huang Bo's handmade butter tea, which had a lot of salt at first, haha, but tasted much better after adding sugar. I also had the black tea he brewed. The breakfast was excellent too. I had mentioned not eating pork at dinner, and they remembered at breakfast, even reminding us that some soup bases contained pork. They truly remember their customers' preferences. Since we were rushing to go to the snow mountain in the morning, they even packed breakfast for us, and the fruit at the front desk was incredibly delicious! So thoughtful! Before leaving, I bought a can of Taohuawu tea as a souvenir. I truly love this place. The only minor thing is that because the environment is so natural and beautiful, there are a lot of little critters, but everything else was perfect. I hope their business flourishes, and all the other details are in the pictures. I hope to visit again someday!

Taohuawu is definitely worth a special trip! The butler service was incredibly attentive; all our needs during the stay were promptly met, and the thoughtful details were truly heartwarming ✨. The hotel's photo shoot was a major highlight, taking advantage of natural backdrops like snow-capped mountains, meadows, wooden cabins, and lakes. The photographer found unique spots, capturing natural, unposed shots that made getting atmospheric, stunning photos a breeze. At the ranch, you can get up close to cows, horses, and squirrels, which really enhances the authentic wilderness feel. If I had to pick a downside, it would be the long journey and the dependence on weather – heavy fog means no snow-capped mountains or starry skies. Nevertheless, I still highly recommend it.

This family trip included both seniors and children, and our overall stay was excellent, so I just had to leave a positive review. When I booked, my biggest concerns were hygiene and noise, but once we arrived, all my worries disappeared. The room was meticulously cleaned, the bathroom had no water stains or strange smells, and the bedding was fresh. The room also had good ventilation and natural light. Knowing we had children, the hotel thoughtfully prepared kids' toothbrushes, shoe covers, and even raincoats. We had planned to bring our own due to Yunnan's rainy season, so it was a pleasant surprise that the hotel had everything ready – a huge plus point! The breakfast in the morning offered a rich variety and tasted great. There was porridge, rice noodles, regular noodles, bacon, salad, sandwiches, and eggs. The flavors weren't too strong, making it suitable for both seniors and children. The guesthouse itself was very quiet; we didn't hear any disturbing noises at night, and the kids, tired from playing, fell asleep instantly. For getting around, they gave us tips on nearby attractions, where to eat conveniently, and places with fewer crowds, saving us a lot of hassle with planning. The public areas were lovely, allowing the children to play freely while the adults could relax. The service was just right – attentive without being overly enthusiastic or overwhelming. When traveling with family, all you want is a stress-free and comfortable experience, and this place truly delivered!
