Pros – The hotel is excellently located, just 30 meters from the beach. It is also a reasonable distance—about 5–6 minutes—from the main street in Laganas. The room was fine and relatively recently renovated. Good Wi-Fi and air conditioning; the bathroom featured both a bathtub and a shower with constant hot water. Amenities included a TV with many channels (for those who wish to use it while on vacation), a kettle, a hairdryer, and a free safe. Breakfast was very good. The beach is decent; sunbed prices range from €10 (further from the water) up to €25 for a set of two sunbeds and an umbrella. The entry into the water is very gradual, with no stones. Cons – I don't think it quite meets all the criteria for a 4-star hotel; it feels more like a 3.5-star property. Because it is rated as 4 stars, the resort tax is €10 per night. The breakfast coffee was weak—though that is typical for hotels. About the resort – Laganas is a lively resort town featuring a main street about 2 km long, lined with numerous clubs, restaurants, and shops. There are also many terraces and restaurants along the seafront promenade, which stretches for about 1 km. It is close to Zante Town (the capital)—about 7–8 km away—which is worth visiting for an evening; the main attractions there are the harbor area, the waterfront promenade, and a pedestrian street (approx. 1 km long) filled with shops and terraces. A taxi from Laganas to Zante Town costs €20.

Had a wonderful stay at California Beach Hotel in Zakynthos! The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the location was perfect for enjoying the beach and nearby restaurants. Great value for money, and I'd happily stay here again.

My boyfriend and I had a nice stay at this hotel. It’s a peaceful place with a lively atmosphere nearby, and the beach is just a one-minute walk away. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always positive. We stayed in room 216, which was quite nice and comfortable. A few things could use some renovation, but hopefully those will be updated in the near future. We spent quite a lot of time by the pool, and the girls working there were warm, always smiling and helpful. The hotel only offers breakfast, but until 5:00 p.m. you can order snacks from the pool bar. We kept ordering the chicken gyros, and we really enjoyed it. Overall, we were satisfied with what we received for the money we paid.

Stayed here for the week, checked in 15-06. The staff were friendly and the cleaners done an amazing job. However, I paid extra for a private pool which I had, when I got to the room, the pool looked as though it had not been cleaned in a month, it’s always disgusting, and while there it was only cleaned 2 times. The WiFi was horrific, either you had a connection or none at all, usually being the latter, there was no in between. I’m coming to laganas again next year but will not be staying here again.

It is a really nice hotel, really close to the beach. Try get a room with a pool view, the other side has a road that runs parallel with the hotel to the beach, 2am-4am there are teenagers that walk down there after being to the *****. These teenagers are very noisy- laughing and screaming. The pool was always nice and clean. There is quite a noisy hotel next door though. The reception staff and manager are very rude and very unhelpful. I was feeling very unwell one Sat and managed to get myself to reception, only to be told that l had to ring the ambulance - it was only until l collapsed that they run the ambulance!!!
