We had just one night in this Lodge, but it was fantastic. Spontaneously we could book a day safari and a night safari. The surrounding is overwhelming and the tents offer a real safari feeling. We are planning to come back having a longer stay.

We stayed here two nights and as soon as we arrived we liked it The lodge is quite isolated and not too big : exactly the kind of lodge we prefer. The lounge had just been revamped and it is stunning . The tent and the lounge are built on stilts, and we could enjoy the sight of an elephant with its baby passing in front of tour tent while going to drink to the small waterhole close to the swimming pool. The tent , solar powered , has no frills but it is provided with everything you need . (Maybe a coffee machine in the tent would be a nice addition ) . Another strong point was the staff : nice and always helpful ; the overall atmosphere was always relaxing and friendly . It was quite cold during our sty but the duvet on the bed and the hot water bottle were very nice . The second day we had a problem with the hot water and we couldn’t have a shower : they offered us to change the tent but as the day after we had to leve we didn’t want to move so they were so kind to let us have the shower at a tent that was empty. The game drives were really interesting and the guides really knowledgeable : the park is quite different from the other parks we visited , the grass at that time was very high but we could se a good number of wildlife . We liked especially the combo activity, a land safari combined with a boat safari on the Lyniaty. river. We strongly recommend this lodge and this park : really worth visiting ! thank you to all of you . Anna and Francesco from Italy

We chose to stay at Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge (16-19 April) due to its different scenery and location bordering Botswana across the Linyanti River in the most south easterly part of Namibia’s Kavango region. We felt it would give us some impression of what the Okavango Delta was like. And it didn’t disappoint. Our first afternoon game drive took us about 45 minutes along a very bumpy grassy track between vast, flat fields of grasses, that local communities use to thatch their houses, before reaching more sandy trails. Big sky country with open plains and large trees scattered in the mix and very different to our previous locations. Saw a large herd of wildebeest and another of buffaloes in the distance. The next morning, we did the 4-hour game drive/river cruise. After 2 hours I kept wondering where the river was, but it had been there the whole time, out of sight, hidden below in the reeds. We climbed down into the pontoon and took a leisurely trip through water lilies and grassy reeds, dodging groups of hippos around the bends, at eye level with shore birds and baboons, and watched a large herd of about 13 elephants appear through the trees on the Botswana side of the river while we stopped for drinks. Very peaceful, no other people or vehicles around and how I’d imagined the Delta. That afternoon after lunch, while resting in the impressive lodge area, the heavens opened, and it felt like a bucket of water pouring down on us for 1 ½ hours solid. We cancelled our morning trip because it was very wet and did the guided walk with Stefan in the afternoon, which was informative and interesting. We learnt how to make “chili smoke bombs” to deter elephants from communal crops amongst other useful info! The night drive gave us an entirely different perspective of the park – we saw a black-tailed civet, a serval which looked like a small leopard, several spring hares hopping like kangaroos – none of which we’d seen before. The next morning, we were grateful to be able to follow Stefan back to Sangwali in our own vehicle through/around black mud holes, backtracking and off-roading where the path had disappeared. We enjoyed the remoteness and the luxury of not seeing any other cars around. The tents were comfortable and adequate, and all staff were friendly and helpful. We saw several water buck at the camp’s waterholes in the evening.

We stayed at Jackalberry Lodge as Nkasa Lupala was being renovated. We had an amazing stay. They guide, Dusty was brilliant. Accommodation great. The food, well this could be better and maybe the menu needs to be reviewed. The one steak was really tough. Staff fantastic. Overall a great stay. Thank you

The lodge has a remote location, why you are surrounded by nature. An elephant family was our welcoming committee, feeding right next to our tent. A once in a lifetime experience. The deck, where all the meals are serve is overlooking a water hole and we were lucky enough to have elephants coming every night to drink, whilst we enjoyed our lovely diner.

What an adventure we experienced in this very nice lodge. We had a well equipped tent and enjoyed 3 nights so close to elephants. They could be found even in the lodge area. Wonderful experience. The sraff if the lodge was very helpful and friendly.

a beautifull located lodge right in the middle of nature. Warthogs and baboons roam freely through the camp. The combined gamedrive is a must; not enough words to desctibe it. So many animals, like eliphant, lots of birds etc. Only close encounter with the hippo's in the narrow stream was a bit scary (for us; the guide was completely at ease...). Only point of attention is the signposts from the road to the lodge (and back). there are many sandy spoors but at one point you donot know anymore which is which. A 4-wheel drive is essential due to the soft sand which you encounter. Fortunately tracks4africa map on our garmin showed every spoor...
