The rooms a lovely, it’s a great place to stay.Have only given 4 stars though because unless you drive a long way for dinner you are stuck with eating at the Tinners (and isn’t the whole point of staying here to enjoy the location). Breakfast is fine but the evening meal options are with one exception poor. So next time sadly it will be AirBnb and taxi in with our own food, I don’t really want to cook but I also don’t like having an upset gut because of all the over processed food.

My husband and I are hiking the Southwest Coastal Path and stayed here. Our room had everything we needed but also more. The towels and linens were some if the best we’ve ever used. The shower was a world class rain shower that felt so good after a hike. Dinner at Tinner Arms was lovely and breakfast was equally good. Great stay.

The White House and the Tinners Arms are exceptional. We had the large double room upstairs in the White House which looked out on a pleasant view to the front and the historic church so close to the side. Visit the Church to see the historic carving of the Mermaid of Zennor and of course the beautiful church itself. The White House was lovely and warm, with a large welcoming hallway with room for muddy boots, coats and in our case, a tiny poodle! There is a very large communal kitchen with guest fridge, extra kettles, teapots and toaster, and laundry facilities should you need it! A large farmhouse table should you wish to sit around and tell ghost stories or tales of mermaids, and access to the back garden. Our room was warm, cosy and very clean, with a large and comfortable bed with sparkling white bed linen. A tea tray and kettle and teapot with a selection of hot drinks and biscuits were a lovely addition, as were the little bottles of Cornish water. Everything has been carefully thought of, including the natural toiletries in the bathroom. Lovely shower, big white fluffy towels and even bathrobes and slippers were provided. This is 5 star accommodation bearing in mind the historic nature of the buildings and the rural location. We loved everything including the residents dining room set at the back of the pub. The staff were the friendliest and most helpful that we have ever come across, with a great welcome from Chris, great service from Bill and brilliant breakfasts with great choice from Cheryl. The evening meals were excellent and every member of staff that we saw looked happy, which says a lot. We also had the Sunday Roast dinner which was delicious and my vegetarian version was simply the best! Everywhere was exceptionally clean and nothing was too much trouble. And dogs very welcome, what more could you want? We would very happily stay again! We loved it!

Have a nice huge room, could use a cleaning g in the carpets and mold off the shower walls, but nice bed and people. They do offer a laundry machine and we grabbed the opportunity to do a load of clothes. So nice to have. The roosters woke us up and we headed out after a great free breakfast to hike the SW path.

We both work in the hospitality industry, in fact in one of the most prestigious Hotels, so expect this review to be honest based on our personal feelings as well as our professional side. We booked late as our original holiday break was dashed because of illness and therefore we only had a few days left before returning to work. We took our two dogs and booked in at the bar in the Tinners Arms. The pub was a warm cosy atmosphere, a log fire was burning and a small cluster of patrons enjoying a pint on a winters afternoon. we were shown to our room and a quick tour of the Whitehouse. We had booked an ensuite room and found it to be tastefully decorated with a small, but very adequate bathroom and shower. All of the facilities were modern suggesting recent investment. With a comfy king size bed and fast broadband all was set. Just so you know that in Zennor (Deep in the costal countryside) TV reception is almost nil, so not surprisingly there was no TV in the room, no problem, bring a laptop or smart phone because fast wifi is available. You'll need to book breakfast the night before and we chose a cooked English breakfast. This was cooked for us on the morning and served as a delicious start to the day. There was also cereal, toast, fresh juices and fresh coffee available. Take a torch with you as there are no streetlights. So walking the dogs before bed is a bit of a hazard if you aren't prepared. For afternoon and evening meals we stopped off at the Tinners Arms (next door) The menu is mainly English pub grub but it is cooked to perfection. As a chef myself, I have to compliment the presentation of the meals. The battered fish is clearly fresh and the chargrilled burgers are undoubtable butchers burgers. The servings are generous in proportion and although there is a slightly longer delay to get food (compared to other establishments) the reason is that the kitchen is much smaller than most. That said, I did have a quick peak at the kitchen and can say it is one of the cleanest kitchen I've seen in years! The bar was populated with a generous proportion of local ales and ciders. All served to perfection, which explains its presents in the good pub guide. We found the staff to be courteous, helpful and friendly. This is primarily a mixed local and walkers pub, but considering that our visit was in the fist week of February, I was surprised at how busy this establishment was. Would I stay here again... absolutely Would I recommend this place... absolutely If I was looking for a module to show how hospitality should be done, then this place would be it. The management and staff should rightfully be very proud of the service they provide because it is the very best!

A beautiful place to stay and great if walking the south west coastal path. It’s a lovely modern, clean hotel. No tv in room. Was in a single room with a shared bathroom with a friend but it didn’t detract from the experience. Recommend- next to an amazing pub

Stayed here one night and it was awful. We arrived and had a new room that had been finished the day before so you'd think we where in for a great stay, Wrong. We had no hot water in the shower, went and complained and got told we needed to leave it running (like we hadn't already thought of that) had to have a freezing cold shower. Got told that the alarm might got off in the night and we'd have to call a number if it did, luckily it went off at 8:30am when we were already awake. The room was boiling hot and the noise from downstairs in the pub went on until about 1am so not much sleep. We ordered food in the evening and got told we also had to order breakfast at 7pm for the next morning. The evening meal came out wrong and it was such slow service. The breakfast despite ordering it 12 hours in advance was also wrong. None of the staff seem to have a clue what they where doing. Safe to say I would never stay here again and we didn't pay for the awful experience luckily.
