Zhangjiagang Marriott Hotel

My stay in a suite was absolutely fantastic. The location is unbeatable, with Wanda Plaza right downstairs, making it incredibly convenient for getting around, dining, and shopping. The room itself was spacious, offering expansive city views through its panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows. The bedding was comfortable, and the bathroom amenities featured THANN products – truly top-notch. I have to specially commend the Executive Lounge on the 36th floor! The high-altitude views are breathtaking. The afternoon tea pastries were exquisite, and during happy hour, there was a wide variety of hot dishes, snacks, and drinks. Watching the sunset over the city from there created an incredible ambiance. The staff were warm, courteous, and very prompt in their service. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, with a heated indoor pool on the 4th floor and a 24-hour gym, both fully operational. Plus, there's ample free parking in the underground garage. This hotel is perfect for both business trips and short getaways. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in Zhangjiagang!

Taking advantage of the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, I brought my parents to Zhangjiagang. We booked the Zhangjiagang Marriott Hotel this time. It's located in the heart of Zhangjiagang, making transportation very convenient. Right next to it are the Poly Grand Theatre and Wanda Plaza, so shopping and entertainment are easily accessible. It's also a short drive to several classic scenic spots. We booked an Executive King Room, which was on the 36th floor, the same floor as the executive lounge, so dining was super convenient. Upon entering the room, you find the spacious bathroom with a separate bathtub and shower area. A sliding door next to the bathtub can be closed to separate it from the bedroom – truly excellent attention to detail. In the center of the room was a king-sized bed, and by the window, there was a chaise lounge and a small desk. Lying on the chaise lounge, you could enjoy panoramic city views from the large floor-to-ceiling window. The executive room package included afternoon tea and dinner. The 'Happy Hour' from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM offered a rich variety of dishes and plenty of drinks. There were three pre-made cocktails daily, but I still preferred the Gin & Tonic. For breakfast, the shepherd's purse and pork wontons were incredibly fragrant and delicious – highly recommended. The service here is very warm and welcoming; staff always greeted us enthusiastically in the hallways. Usually, after dinner, we'd take a walk outside, and by the time we returned to the hotel, the turndown service had already been done, making us feel truly at home.

Stopped over for a night to escape the typhoon. The room decor was very Marriott-like, and the hotel even provided some Sam's Club snacks. A special shout-out to Leo and Erin from the customer team! Breakfast was also quite good.

The service was attentive, and the room was clean and comfortable. We had a great stay. Summer and Julia provided really warm service.

Concierge Yves and Concierge Leo deserve commendation. They valued guest feedback, were warm and polite, and demonstrated professionalism, which made my trip very satisfying.

Marriott's overall facility maintenance seems to be a recurring issue… From the JW Marriott in another city where the AC panel fell off, to now finding a broken light strip in the living room at the Zhangjiagang Marriott, I'm almost used to it 🙃. On top of that, the handrail in the elevator was also coming unstuck… Plus, the master bedroom toilet had stains on it when I checked in… I tried the coffee at the executive lounge… besides being iced, it honestly had no flavor at all 😂. Overall, there's just so, so, so much room for improvement… The only saving grace is the Triangle Garden Bar downstairs, where you can at least sit quietly for a while in the evening.

I told the front desk I was a fan of Mr. Xu, and they upgraded me to a suite. The facilities are indeed good, but the service is very average. I didn't see a single smile from anyone, whether at the front desk or in the executive lounge. The pool is small but the water quality is clean. It's open to the public, so it can get crowded, and there's only one lifeguard who also gives swimming lessons, which is a huge safety concern. The lounge's afternoon tea was supposed to end at 4:30 PM, but by 4:10 PM, some dishes were already empty and not being refilled. I had to ask twice for them to replenish. Room cleaning was also inadequate; there were what looked like bloodstains on the sofa. Only the breakfast service was satisfying; one auntie was smiling throughout and was very friendly and proactive. When the hotel called for feedback, they were still asking for a good review after I told them about the issues, which is quite ridiculous.
