Orange Hotel (Zhangjiagang Street )

The hotel rooms are spacious and conveniently located, very close to the pedestrian street. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful.

The air conditioner is terrible; it only stops being hot when it's set to 23 degrees Celsius.

First, they tried to upsell me during check-in, saying I could only get a late check-out and free breakfast for an extra fee. I explained that late check-out was usually possible in special circumstances, but the receptionist said I couldn't get a late check-out since I hadn't paid for it. Okay, even though I didn't need a late check-out, their response was still quite rude. I've always been offered late check-outs, this is the first time they've refused outright. Then, the kettle in the room smelled sour, so I had to leave it unused. Also, the shower gel was almost empty, I don't know how they checked the room, and the table wasn't even clean. This is the worst Orange Hotel I've ever encountered.

This is my first negative review on Ctrip. In all my years of staying in hotels, this is the first time I've seen someone call my room three times at 12:10 PM, urgently urging me to come downstairs. They asked in an extremely rude tone if I wanted to extend my stay, asking if I wanted to extend my time. They said it was 30 yuan per hour, implying I needed to come down immediately if I didn't want to extend. I said no. When I went down to check out at 12:49 PM, they actually had the nerve to ask for 30 yuan... Look at your watch and then at your calendar! What era are we living in? I checked in at 1 AM and they didn't even ask me to extend my check-out time. Trying to charge me for something that's only a few tens of minutes late? Don't they know the market is what it is now? Seriously, if the cleanliness and soundproofing were even slightly off, I wouldn't bother giving a negative review.

The hotel was great, very quiet and clean. The front desk staff were also very helpful.

The smart facilities can't connect to the internet, there's hair all over the floor when I clean the room, and the windows are too small to be well-ventilated.
