We had an amazing stay at this hotel and honestly couldn’t be happier with our choice. The staff was incredibly attentive and took care of us 24 hours a day, making us feel truly welcomed and looked after from the very first moment. A very special thanks to Mr. Ren, who was absolutely outstanding. He handled everything for us with so much care and kindness, from upgrading our room so we could enjoy a better view, to being available at all times and always replying quickly to our messages about anything we needed. He guided us through the National Park, gave us clear directions, maps, tips, and recommendations, which made our whole experience smooth and stress-free. The hotel itself is beautiful, peaceful, and perfectly located. On top of that, the dogs and all the animals around the hotel are incredibly cute and added such a warm, joyful atmosphere to our stay, we loved them! We are extremely happy that we chose this hotel and would 100% come back again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great service, genuine hospitality, and a memorable experience.

From the moment I arrived, I was surrounded by towering karst mountains, lush greenery, and a sense of calm you simply can’t find in the city. The rooms are beautifully designed—clean, cozy, and thoughtfully detailed—with stunning views that make waking up feel like a dream. Every corner of the lodge blends seamlessly with the natural landscape, creating an authentic yet luxurious experience. What truly sets No.5 Valley Lodge apart is the staff. Warm, attentive, and genuinely caring, they go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Their local knowledge is invaluable, whether you’re planning visits to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain, or discovering lesser-known scenic trails. The food is another highlight—fresh, flavorful, and comforting, with local touches that make every meal memorable. It’s a beautiful and peaceful place, located near the west gate of the park. The staff is very welcoming but could improve, we had some troubles during our stay and they were not always supportive. The tea experience with the tea master is well worth the time. The food offer could be better if you’re looking for a “local experience“, for both breakfast and dinner, as dishes have been “mitigated” for international travellers.

We had a fantastic experience! The staff was friendly and so helpful. They helped us plan and navigate our zhangjiajie route. They gave us step by step instructions for every location on the map. They were incredibly fast when communicating and answering our requests. The hotel is surrounded by gorgeous views. I can just sit for hours and watch the sunset through the mountains surrounding this place. The breakfast buffet was delicious. We had dinner here every night as well. The rooms were spacious.

We had such a wonderful stay at this hotel! All the staff members were incredibly kind and helpful, and they assisted us promptly with everything we needed. They helped us understand the different routes and plan our trip in the best way possible. A very special thank you to Frankie, who took the time to explain the National Park map to us, it made a huge difference and truly made our visit smooth, enjoyable, and unforgettable. We are very grateful for everything. Our stay was excellent, and the dinner at the hotel was also fantastic, with amazing options. Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful stay at No. 5 Valley Inn. Upon arrival our assigned innkeeper, Frankie gave us a thorough brief on hotel amenities and meal timings. He also suggested routes to take for Wulingyuan. In case you haven’t bought attraction tickets, the inn sells them at a slight discount. A WeChat group was setup for easy communications. They’re effectively bilingual so you can text in both English and Chinese. All requests from meal orders to pickup/drop off can be made through WeChat. The hotel provides FOC pick up and drop off service to the nearby West-gate of Wulingyuan. Hotel environment had a charming country vibe. The resident cats and dogs even bring you to breakfast. Breakfast buffet had good variety, and Ala-carte dinner offers many options. Don’t miss the fabulous valley views of morning fog/ evening sunset from the heated pool and rice terrace. Should you decide to stay indoors, they offer activities like calligraphy, knitting, and pastry making. A strong recommend.

This hotel went above and beyond during my stay. Rain who first greeted us was helpful from the very beginning of the stay until the very end. The hotel provided a detailed route for the Zhangjiajie National Park and even provided transportation to the park and pick up once completed. In addition they assisted with the luggage during check in and check out. If flying or riding into Zhangjiajie, the hotel does offer setting up transportation to and from the hotel if needed at a very reasonable fee. The hotel offered a buffet breakfast and complimentary tea with the tea master, who was also amazing at making the stay feel very welcoming. Once the tea master and Rain found out it was my birthday they made my day one to remember. The tea master wrote me a congratulatory calligraphy scroll and set up a cake with Rain to be given to me as well. The hotel also offered activities every evening. On the day I was able to attend, they taught me how to make peach cookies which was so fun and delicious. The tea master also showed us how to do calligraphy while we waited for the cookies to be baked. Rain set up a Wechat with the staff where I was able to conveniently pre order dinner, which was super delicious. My favorite was the eggplant with pork. I can't express in enough words how everyone here made the stay the most enjoyable. For anyone visiting Zhangjiajie, I highly recommend staying here. I wish I could have spent more nights here to enjoy the entire resort such as the heated pool and sunset terrace.

Our cabin was perfect, and the team working at the hotel were so lovely and attentive for the whole trip! They offer a shuttle service back and forth from the Zhangjiajie National Park, which is great since it is quite a treck and there are no taxis/didis in the area. Also make sure you check out the tea room and have a tea tasting while you are there (no cost). You can even have a pot of tea while you wait for the shuttle to the park or a drive into the city. Will definitely be coming back!

We‘ve been staying in No. 5 Valley for visiting the Zhangjiajie National Park. We had a pleasant stay, beautiful room with a fantastic view, amazing local food. The accommodation offers great Service especially because they speak good English. Our highlights were the exchange and learning about tea culture, swimming in the infinity pool and having someone taking care of organizational stuff (e.g. booking transfer,…) We absolutely recommend the No.5 Valley and will definitely come back when visiting China! PS: They also offer to book tickets for the Nationalpark for you!

This place is so well put together ❤️ the hospitality is very humbling. It is in the perfect location off the beatin path. Nestled up in the mountains to unwind from the day to day challenges. I want to give a shout out to all the services provided. A special shout out to Frankie for his welcoming services and to a remarkable woman Miss Ma for her special blends of tea, activities and for her wonderful conversations. In the most sincere way. Our stay was a very pleasant experience! The service is the best we’ve got in the past 2 weeks travelling China. Frankie and his team make sure your needs are met and respond timely to all your requests (even when you get stuck in the park after dark…). The room was luxurious and spacious, but keep in mind that you are living on the country side and the occasional bug or big spider may enter your room. We loved the setting and the aesthetic of the different lodges, although small repairs/renovations are due to some of the parts of the Inn. The free tea session and workshops with the local tea expert Ya Ma are a must try as well.

We had an incredible experience at No. 5 Valley Inn. Frankie went above and beyond to ensure that was had a great trip. He was extremely responsive to messages before and during our trip, and helped us plan out our route in the park as well as providing free shuttles to and from the West Gate at any time. The dinner and breakfast were great, and the view from the infinity pool was stunning. One of the highlights of our stay was having tea with the teamaster and chatting, and she even wrote calligraphy for each of us to take home.
