We had an amazing stay at this hotel, highly recommended (especially if you live in a big city and want a more unique and peaceful experience)! I couldn’t find many detailed reviews before booking, so I wanted to write one myself to help future travelers:
Host
The owner is one of the most welcoming and kind hosts we’ve ever met. He was always helping us with transportation, routes, tickets, and recommendations, which made the whole trip much easier and completely stress-free. The free transfers were especially helpful and saved us a lot of time and energy.
We landed quite late in the evening, and he even drove us to the Zhangjiajie food market so we could still have dinner and try local food and fruits. That was such a thoughtful gesture after a long trip, thank you so much!
Location
The location was actually the main reason why we booked this place, and it turned out to be a perfect choice. It is conveniently located between all the major attractions, so we spent less time on the road and could sleep a bit longer in the mornings.
Our itinerary:
- Day 1: Avatar Mountains / Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
- Day 2: Tianmen Mountain (999 Steps), Route C
- Day 3: Grand Canyon & Glass Bridge
- Day 4: Yellow Dragon Cave
The host also helped us buy tickets with discounts compared to the official prices just 1 day in advance.
The host also helped us a lot with planning the itinerary. Initially, we wanted to choose Route B for Tianmen Mountain, but he warned us in advance that the cable car route was partially closed at the moment. Thanks to his advice, we chose Route C instead, and it turned out to be a brilliant decision for us: bus -> cable car → 999 steps -> walking route (you can choose the route, 1-3 hours) -> same way back. Without this advice, we probably would have wasted a lot of time and missed part of the experience.
Rooms
The rooms have everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The biggest highlight was definitely the mountain view, waking up surrounded by nature was beautiful.
Food
We usually eat more European-style food, but we really enjoyed the breakfast here. Every morning they prepared different fresh buns: with meat, with rice and meat, and plain ones - NOT spicy at all. Boiled eggs were also available.
One of the highlights of the whole stay was the barbecue dinner. We had barbecue pork, fried rice, and beaten cucumber salad. Everything was fresh, delicious, and felt very authentic. We really enjoyed both the food and the warm atmosphere.
Thank you again for making our trip to Zhangjiajie so special!
