Facilities: The stay experience is maximized! The smart toilet, disposable toilet seat and other details in the room are perfect, which can completely cure the fatigue of the journey. The biggest surprise is the exclusive terrace on the fifth floor, which is equipped with a laundry area and drying space. It is a ”savior” for tourists who travel for more than ten days in a row, making it very convenient to change clothes!
Hygiene: When I arrived, the previous guest had just checked out. I waited for a while for the room to be cleaned, and I was quite satisfied with the cleanliness of the room.
Environment: You can reach the ancient city gate on foot, and strolling through the ancient city after nightfall is super atmospheric! (Figure 3) In the afternoon, we also explored the nearby Yangcun Village (see Figure 4), where we experienced the local customs in depth at the small scenic spots.
Service: I have to praise the enthusiasm of the female boss! We were served boiled peanuts as soon as we checked in, and when we were leaving, they saw that we were driving on our own, and thoughtfully prepared some refreshing Red Bull and peanuts. This kind of warm service, being treated as a friend, directly doubles the happiness of the trip~

Since we were going back to Nantian, the hotel owner Abu had already turned on the dehumidification in the three rooms we booked in advance. The most important thing was to provide disposable plastic slippers and toilet mats, so that I, who have a slight mysophobia, could really enjoy the stay. Experience what it means to feel at home! Speaking of service, the hotel will help with moving and introduce the scenic spots along the way, so that an unknown person followed us all the way to the hotel and asked for a business card. I will stay here again in the future because the service is so attentive. I saw the legendary three peacocks and a blue cat named Maharashtra, who was very dear to me. The Niu Ge breakfast shop next to the hotel is really delicious. Visitors who come to stay must try the fried silkworm glutinous rice and water chestnut noodles! Overall, this is a hotel with good service and warmth. I was in a hurry this time. I arrived at night and left the next morning. I did not fully explore the beauty of the ancient town. I will still stay here next time I come to Huangyao.

The boss is very friendly and there are many places to eat around. The room has been designed and is quite comfortable to live in. But I want to complain about the bathroom. Why is the bathroom so small in such a big room? The key is that there is no separation of wet and dry, you have to wipe the toilet after flushing, and the floor is very slippery. The hot and cold shower water is also a problem.

GGuest UserWhen I first met the boss, he was kind and low-key, polite and elegant. The landlady also came back later in the evening. She was cheerful and full of energy. She was the absolute soul. Here, every visitor from afar can find a reason to relax. It could be the outdoor tea table, the elegant furnishings in the room, the guqin calligraphy, the beautiful scenery outside the window, the plants, trees, mountains and rocks here, or the warm feeling of being at home and being cared for by family members. Everywhere in the inn is carefully decorated, reflecting the owner's business philosophy and artistic temperament. You will encounter quaint creativity unexpectedly around the corner. Needless to say, it is clean and sanitary, and it is rare that every detail is taken into consideration. Huangyao Ancient Town has a history of thousands of years and has extremely superior natural scenery. Although the level of tourism development is uneven, no matter from which perspective, this B&B is definitely the best among the hundreds of B&Bs here. There are hospitals, pharmacies, restaurants, etc. next door. There is also indoor parking. For tourists, staying outside is indeed more convenient than staying in the scenic area. DDi TanThis charming, ancient house turned family-run hotel is nestled within the historic city walls (note that even as a hotel guest, you’ll need to purchase an entrance ticket to access the city). Beautifully decorated, it exudes authentic charm, but it feels more like a homestay than a hotel, with its pros and cons.
The warm landlady’s hospitality and generosity were slightly hindered by the language barrier (as we regrettably don’t speak Chinese). However, her helpful daughter bridged the gap via WeChat, providing tips, arranging transportation, and ensuring a smooth stay.
All in all, it’s an excellent choice for travelers seeking a personal touch and a culturally immersive experience.
