The Westin Zhongshan Guzhen

The room itself was fine, and it's true that this is a landmark building in Zhongshan. However, it's definitely showing its age. For example, the buffet – while not expensive – offered a lot of food but the quality really needs improvement. What really disappointed me was the breakfast. This is the first time I've ever felt a hotel couldn't get breakfast right; it was worse than what you'd find at an all-season or Atour hotel. They really need to step up their game, otherwise, people won't even consider staying here.

This hotel is conveniently located with a shopping mall right next door, surrounded by many local eateries. Parking is super easy with spaces available right downstairs. The hotel rooms are very clean, and I especially appreciate that the shower and toilet are separate – that’s a big plus! The hotel's swimming pool gets plenty of sun and isn't too deep, making it perfect for kids. There's also a 38-degree massage pool, great for a water massage. On the same floor, there's even a bubble room for children to play in. Breakfast is served on the top floor (59th floor), offering panoramic views of the entire area. The breakfast spread was also very rich and varied. The staff were very enthusiastic and even asked for my feedback on the breakfast. I offered some suggestions, and to show their appreciation, the hotel actually sent me a bottle of red wine and a fruit platter, which really shows how much they value their guests' opinions and feelings. Thank you! The reception on the 39th floor also had some gifts prepared for children, which was a very thoughtful touch. I'll definitely stay here again on my next visit.
